Are you a freelancer? Don't cut your roots... Your success might be getting into your head
Warriors! Take a note of this... Karma Dharma is still active in the universe... and the God is still around. He is omnipresent and can see what you aredoing.
I have been associated with many freelancers in the past. And most of them know I make them sharp payments, nice testimonials, more recommendations (even if its not an affiliate link).
Now, I always try to build a nice friendly relationship with my freelancers. I try and protect them from negative comments at times when they need it. And I have given many a freelancers a chance to work for me when they are new and needy... Risking a lot of things as I am sure you all understand.
And most often they are like... "you are great", "thank you", and "You are a premium customer" and "You will get the same response, service time and prices for the next 6 months".
Now, after a few months, these freelancers begin getting many more clients... New people... new associations. Especially if they are good at what they do.. And that is definitely a good thing.
But does that mean you can just tell your original guys to "take your money and shove it"?
OK... no one has said that to me, but I notice a rapid change in attitudes. here's what I got to say to you... Experts and freelancers are a dime a dozen... If you can't do it for me, at least bother to tell you won't. And don't hang me into believing you will do it for me.
You might have a thousand more clients to work with, but I am surely optimistic you have the time to shoot me an email and tell you don't need to work with me any longer since you have more clients trusting you and your abilities who were initially reluctant to work with you because you did not have those recommendations that you got from me and a few other people who invested in your dreams.
I can look for another freelancer, but you better not break your step 1 if you are on step 2, cuz you might need me or my contacts to get the step three... And if you break your own step one, then chances are the entire staircase will eventually give in and then you won't have any other option but falling. Standing up next timer might be even more difficult.
If you are a freelancer, hear me out:
Your time might be very important, but it is not so valuable that you don't have a minute to tell your original clients that you won't be able to work for them.
I don't know why... But attitudes change. Maybe your success is getting into your head??? Warriors, for your own well-being, career wise and othrewise, just know that your arrogance might be the seed for your fall.
I know nothing is permanent stuff, but hey! Somethings do last long. Make sure your business and more importantly business/personal relationships do fall in this category.
