If I want to flip a domain quickly, what domain provider should I buy from?

I know sites like GoDaddy have rules like "you can't transfer a domain until you've had it for 60 days". This is obviously not conducive to fast domain flipping - because you would have to wait two months before transferring it to the buyer! My goal is to purchase keyword-rich domains and sell them on Flippa within a few days. What domain provider will allow me to do this? Thanks!

You can use Godaddy... all you have to do is ask the buyer to make a godaddy account(free) and then you can transfer to their account instantly using "account change"..they will then be able to point their nameservers to their hosting.

I also advise that you try somewhere else than flippa for domains . It is pretty hard to sell a domain on Flippa unless it is premium. Try sedo for this purpose. Also a name won't sell unless it is good.

I second FreshDomains suggestion and use Flippa for selling. The Challenge has a free course to help you with that. I am not promoting any affiliate product and the link in this post is different from the one in my signature

I would recommend using freshdomains WSO for this. You will find a lot of information there that will help you if you are trying to flip domains. A lot of straightforward and practical information. I don't want to give too much of it away, but it will definitely help you purchase domains that are likely to sell!

You cannot transfer any domain in under 60 days (outside of your registrar, e.g HostGator to NameCheap, but only NameCheap to NameCheap), this is due to a ICANN regulation.
NameCheap is alright but I think Godaddy is #1. I just love the way they market their brand

I agree with you Ryan but I have used Godaddy and have just decided to stick with them. Sometime in the future I will change my mind.

I have used both GoDaddy and Namecheap but generally stick with GoDaddy. You can transfer a domain that you have bought without waiting 60 days. It is only if you buy a domain from someone and have it transferred to your account then you have to wait 60 days before you can transfer it again, but if you buy a new domain you can transfer it straight away.

are you sure about that? I mean an official transfer will take 60 days regardless. you can transfer within godaddy instantly though

I have bought a domain from someone in the past and when it reached my GoDaddy account I wasn't able to transfer it for 60 days.

Whenever I have bought a brand new domain I have been able to transfer it straight away. So I'm not 100% on their policy but that is based on my experience with them.

Well I think it takes 60 days but I usually just transfer it to another godaddy account. You must ask the buyer of your domain to make a godaddy account and the transfer is instant.

Oh yes, well I have always transferred to another GoDaddy account so perhaps that's the difference.

I have used both GoDaddy and Namecheap and I found Namecheap service to be far better. They offer free Whois guard with every purchase and transferring domains after selling is a breeze. No 60 day limit as well as I have sold a site within 10 days of registering the domain.

    Best Regards,
