Holy Schmoly - THAT'S what i call Customer Service!

I am with a hosting company for some years already, they are very good and really, really cheap.

Today one of my sites (my main site for the ASQ customer login) is down, so i opened a ticket and told them that the server is down.

30 mins later i get an email back telling me there is some issue they just discovered today and they are checking the server for errors at the moment.

For the down time (which probably was not more than a few hours today) they told me TO REFUND ME EQUIVALENT OF ONE YEAR HOSTING on my paypal.

I am a little...blown away, to say the least...

    What hosting service is that?

Not that I would want refunds all the time. It's because I like the fact that they do something about preserving customer satisfaction when their service fails.

Wow George, you're right, that's just bloody awesome. A year free for a few hours down? Sign me up for that company any day.

Definitely. I been looking over the website for 10 minutes already. Good marketing lesson for real.

A year? Wow...that's...wow. It must have been one hell of a problem for them to do that. But still, that's pretty impressive

While I agree the gesture is nice, you have to consider - what if the site you were running had a major campaign going on, and even some adwords running.

Would the amount of the hosting missed make up for the money you might have lost with the down time?
