You Know, something dawned on me during my latest promotion. Perhaps you have thought of this too, but you know something, this guy is one smart cookie.

As I mentioned, I am running a campaign right now and it's been going very well for 1 week so far. Looking over the stats, I noticed a few sales from an affiliate who's ClickBank Nickname actually is 'nickname'. Now, I don't know if the sheer cleverness of this has hit you yet.

Things is: I bet there are some newbies who don't quite get this IM lark, or perhaps they just copy generic links and forget to replace the word 'nickname' with their actual CB Nicakname.

Quite possibly, it could be that I genuinely have this affiliate who just happened to choose this nickname. But personally, I don't think so.

What I think is that it is a clever way of making affiliate commissions from other people's potential errors. As I said, one smart cookie. You do, at least, have to applaud the out-of-the-box thinking.

If he has picked this up deliberately then he is a smart cookie indeed

Are there any CB marketers called XXXXXX or yourCBcode. I should have checked that before I posted I guess...

        Again Jimmy, very clever thinking

Not for me, of course, but still, I love the creativity of it.

How would he/she get others commissions exactly?

            Through their Cb account.

The way it would work is that a newbie affiliate might not understand they need to replace the text 'nickname' with an actual nickname. They might then send out a promotional email with an affiliate link using the nickname 'nickname'.

Clickbank have already cracked down on this (yep, I checked a few years ago - lol), though you may find a few variations floating around.

    Oi.

This makes me think of those domain names like "www.example.com" or people who come up with names very similar to some big marketers like Stephen Jobs or companies like Starter Bucks.

It's a nice way to make a profit, get a link, or trick someone into giving you respect right off the bat, but at the same time it's kind of derpy lol.
