Where do I check how many backlinks I have?

I launched a recent website via a press release and I would like to see how many backlinks it's generated so far.

Can anyone share how you would do this?

They can take a while to show up, especially with Google.

Grab a copy of WEBCEO, the free version checks backlinks if I remember rightly.

Yahoo! Site Explorer

Google has stopped showing most of your backlinks that it has counted. And most third party tools use yahoo site explorer, anyway. So why not go to the source? Especially if you're starting out and not sure what, if any, tools you'll need.

  Alas it's impossible. Each "tool" will give different results. Just check Google and the others to get a rough idea.

  Use Yahoo. Google is actually the worst and it takes quite some time to show backlinks and even then it never shows all of them. Yahoo shows most of them.
  
  Just go to Yahoo and type in linkdomain:SiteHere to find the links pointing to your entire website or just link:http:/www.sitehere.com/ to find the links pointing to a single URL...

  Another way to monitor your website popularity is to install stat counters on it, especially on the pages of interest. And I don't mean those tasteless graphical things you see all over newbie sites. You can include hidden stats that give you a plethora of information. Try a free account over at StatCounter.com. Visit their web page to get an understanding of what's possible. (Don't worry about the free account being a marketing ploy pushing you towards a paid account, because it doesn't.)
