Ideal content for site.

Warriors, now that google has changed algorithm again, what would be the ideal number of words per article toplace on site. This would be for both adsense and clickbank marketing. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't see any reason why the word count should change. As a general rule keep it between 300 and 500 words and remember to write your content for people and not search engines.

I agree with Andy. I have written both longer 750+ word articles and normal length
(300-500 words) and there isn't a lot of difference that I can see. Except that it takes longer to write the longer article. Also, I don't spin articles either, at least not with software. I will occassionally take one and rewrite it and have a had good luck with this as well.

I agree with the above - I would keep the readers in mind. Write whatever is natural in order to get your point across in a way that's informative or entertaining i.e. provides some sort of value for the visitors. I wouldn't be afraid to mix up shorter articles with longer ones, if that's what the subject called for and what the people liked to read.

I agree with the above. Cant see any reason to change the length, though uniqueness just became a whole load more important. Not an issue if you are writing your own articles.

Ezine is not accepting anything under 400 words. That's the latest information that they sent out.

300 to 500 words is fine just like mentioned above.... I would also consider each of the requirements for article sites because now ezine articles is 400 word min i believe.

I try to stay between 300-500 as well. Just make sure it is good content with good use of keyword as well as LSI words.

My range is a tad bit higher than the conventional wisdom of 300-500. At the low end, 450-550 words of solid content, without a lot of fluff and filler, is sufficient for narrow topics. More than 650 words of online content runs the risk of reader fatigue. If you're looking at a 700 or higher word count, consider narrowing the topic or breaking it into two separate articles.

The more words the better, as far as search engines is concerned. But you have to focus on the reader too. 400 to 800 words is usually fine for an article. Beyond that it's a strain and usually not recommended, unless it is a scientific text.
