I'll just talk about it from a customer perspective. I like the sequence of squeeze to thank you page , to first email being free gift which then leads me to click through a link on gift and get to sales page to get the product.

Some people do and some people don't. I personally havn't made an offer on the thank you page but I plan on testing it. I am going to do a split test with aweber to see which model is better long term.

Some people say it is a great idea as your prospects are hot and super interested in what you have to offer.

Other people say its better to build trust and a relationship before you hit them with the sell.

I would be interested in hearing from any one else who has done a split test for this

Im not sure what you mean by Thank You Page ?? Is that the first email you send out in the Email series ? I have never done a squeeze page so I am a little bit novice on this stuff.
But can you put a sales letter immediately after they Optin for your free gift (not the first email) ??

Your best bet is to do a split test to see what works. You can speculate all you want, but at the end of the day, the metrics don't lie.

I'm guessing you're asking about sending them to a sales page, yes it's okay to send them to a sales page but your main goal should be to get them to your free offer that they signed up for with the least amount of hassle.

You're best approach in this case may be to send them to a 'special offer' which links to a download page for your product or send them to your download page and then link to the sales page.

There's 20 different ways to create a lead funnel but always make it easy for them to get what they signed up for, build relationship with them and optionally sell something that shows you recommend quality products.

I don't think it will be advisable to have a sales copy in your first email to your list.

This is because they may not have known you and needs to have some level of trust on you before they can easily buy from you.

Remember that as they were subscribing to your list, they might be subscribing to 5 others same day, so you will have edges over others(even if they aren't in your niche), by given values to your subscribers first before pushing your products to their desktops.

    It boils down to this:

You have to make sure that the person that subscribes to your list knows you.
In some cases the squeeze page is enough, especially if you have a video that shows your face.

In many cases you have to deliver a lot of good advice over time until somebody really gets who you are and what you are about.

If you hit them with a sales pitch before the time is ripe, you come across like a stalker.

Example from a different world: First date within the first few seconds:" Hi my name is Joe and how do you open your pants"...bang .... red ears. Same question after a few weeks: completely different story.

I guess you get the point...
