Tracking for Wordpress

I have a wordpress site for which I am placing links all over the web.

Links in articles, on video sites, in ezines etc....

But if I place a link to my domain front page (www.mydomain.com), I won't be able to effectively track where the traffic came from.

Does anyone know of software which can help me keep track of each referrer?

    Google Analytics.

It's free and very powerful. It will tell you exactly where the traffic comes from and what they do once they get there.

If I place a link on a solo ad through email to my domain front page, how will Google Analytics tell me and separate for me the traffic source?

Ah, if it's coming from an email, then it will only show the email client (ex; yahoo).

In that case, just add a tracking tag at the end of your url.

    EX:
    yourdomain.com?ad1
    yourdomain.com?track2

Then in your analytics it will show traffic with each tag.
