hi
so im promoting this clickbank product and im redirecting it to the vendor's website

here is the problem

i have gotten over 500 views to the website and 2 sales only

thats a low conversion rate, isn't it?

i dont have a lot of experience selling since im kinda new at this selling other people's products but i think that conversion rate is kinda low.

i dont know... what do you guys think?

      hi alexa
      thanks again for helping

yea, im just direct linking it to the vendor site
      im not collecting visitor's emails
and did not make a presell website

im working on another site strictly only for optins but i also wanted this site to convert a little more than what it's doing right now.

i'll give it couple of weeks. if it stays low, i can create a presell landing page and then vendor's site.

A bit low, but don't let that discourage you.

Keep learning various marketing methods, but most importantly
implement, execute, and apply them. Yes, those all mean the same
thing but most people don't take action.

I put a recent post up about taking action. I hope you learn
a new method to increase your conversions.

Even though you only got 2 sales, I would celebrate that. It's a lot
more than a lot of newbies do.

    Make it happen!

Hi Zena - a bit low, probably, yes. But then again, 2 sales and 500 hops isn't a huge number to be measuring. If you had 4 sales in the next 500 hops, say, that would bring it up to 6/1,000, which is 0.6%, which isn't far out of line for some traffic and some products.

On the other hand, if it stays at 0.4% that would perhaps be a bit low.

The two big questions are: (i) have you done effective pre-selling, and (ii) are these people on a list? (Those are the two "basic requirements" for selling Clickbank products, really).

You say you're "re-directing", but from what/where? Your own website?

If you're "direct-linking" (e.g. from a directory article) then it may not be low at all, and it might be very difficult to improve on that, really. Difficult to say more without knowing more ...

Well that seem to me to be a very low conversation rate. Have you built a list to genarate that traffic? That could make a big difference in your conversation rate as well.

Hey Zena, you managed to get 500 visitors to a website. Great work! You are definitely doing something right. Now you only got 2 sales, don't get discouraged because at least you made some profit. Great! Most people will quit long before they make even one sale.

If you want to improve your conversions, then take a look at how you are promoting (getting traffic). If you aren't getting the results that you want then there must be some kind of disconnect between your marketing method and your landing pages.

Getting visitors to a landing page is not good enough. You have to ensure that they are very highly targeted for what you are offering. The more highly targeted your audience is, the better your conversions will be.

Pay attention to where you're getting your traffic from. You may be getting junk traffic, i.e. Paid To Click visitors or expired domains traffic. Those don't convert well. If you are getting good traffic, then it's possible the sales page isn't good enough to convert better than that. If the sales page is superb, then the vendor might be shaving commissions from you. Those are some possibilities.

      Zena's traffic is probably okay.

Because she doesn't own the product she's got to go down the route Alexa suggested a few days ago.

Then I strongly believe she'd be looking at something like 8-15 sales from those 500 visits rather than just 2 sales...

Another problem with direct linking as an affiliate is you aren't building a list, which is where most of the money is.

Product owners have access to all the buyer e-mails.

Affiliates don't, so need to get them onto their prospect list beforehand.

There are more complicated methods which involve adding direct mail and SMS/text messages to the mix - then the maths gets really interesting - and whether you direct link or not when you use all these options requires a lot of calculations and testing.

      That's a lot of nonsense.

The figure you want to work out is the PLV (Prospect Lifetime Value) when you're dealing with opt-in lists.

If you make $50,000 from 10,000 subscribers then the PLV is $5.

So every new subscriber you get on board is worth $5 to you.

I agree with trying to build a list, but you could get that conversion rate up. Work on your review/landing page/ presell and try to make the reader truly want it!
