Squeeze Page and Giveaway Question

Hello All,

With so much information available on the warriorforum, I almost feel inundated by all the info. There are so many ways people are seeing success in online marketing.

With that said, I'm a little confused on the concept of a squeeze page. I have some niche sites that I'm building and I'm trying to figure out the best way to incorporate list building within my niche site.

How would a squeeze page work within the context of a niche site? I will have a sidebar opt-in form, but I can't see how I could create a stand alone page for users to opt in.

Would it be best for me not to funnel users to a stand-alone opt in page? In this case Im thinking maybe I should use a popover/pop-up form that says what the user will get - has anyone seen any success with this?

Also as far as giving away a freebie ebook - should I slowly give that away over the course of a week, or would it benefit me more to give away my freebie upon the first contact?

Thanks in advance for thoughts.

    Hey man,

I recommend building a list with everything you do.

I use both. a stand alone squeeze page and my blog
which I have a pop up optin form and a sidebar optin.

I'm guessing you are using wordpress which you can easily
build a professional squeeze page with.

As to the giveaway if it's an ebook i recommend giving it
instantly. Remember people are in a microwave mentality
    and want instant gratification.

Unless your freebie states it will be delievered weekly as in
    a newsletter of some sort.

I know some smart marketers who are into niche marketing and either write or have written for them good ebooks on the topic. They give it away in exchange for an opt-in. Then they go back to the list of people with affiliate offers in that same niche. Even Amazon links to physical products can work like this. The key is keeping it all focused on the niche. The other key is building trust with your list members so they buy and don't unsubscribe in large numbers.

I would do what Joshua suggests.... put an opt-in box on your blog (every page)... upper right is a good spot for it. Then, set up a stand-alone squeeze page and push some traffic to it as well.

My traffic plan for my niche-site/blog will be organic standings. But with having a separate squeeze page, i'll have to use a different method of traffic - maybe a ppc campaign? Is that usually what people do?

Thanks everyone for the answers - I really appreciate the info and the help.

Here's a quick tutorial for that...

        1. Find and join some forums in your niche that allow links in your signature. Start participating. That's some of the best, most targeted traffic you could ever hope for going to your squeeze page!

        2. Learn how to make simple videos and post them at YouTube with a link to your squeeze page in the description below the video. Again, highly targeted traffic.

        3. Good old article marketing. Write the articles to pre-sell the giveaway you're using to build your list, then send them to your squeeze page.

You can do all of this for more traffic to your blog, as well, of course. Never rely entirely on search engines!

Re: PPC, that's very risky if you are not experienced. Many people blow through wads of cash without anything to show for it until they get serious and really learn how to do it.

Great post! Thanks for the break-down there. I'll definitely be using that. So the gist of it though is in my particular situation, I should treat the blog and squeeze page as separate entities to serve the same campaign.

In addition to organic rankings on the main site - I'll generate traffic to the main site with the squeeze page using the freebie. Then market affiliate offers to the list as well as pointing subscribers over to my main site.

I'll probably point subscribers to my main site too - in the thank you page of the opt-in process.

          Sounds like a plan?

popovers are a very good way of capturing people who are already interested in your site. if they have come to your site for info, they will likely sign up for a nice freebie that you provide them..

The best thing is to give your ebook ( gift ) in the squeeze page to make people want to add their name and email in your opt in form. This will be an advantage for them and for you.

As for your squeeze page, you can make it a one page website and put the free gift in it with the opt in form and you need to add images and content to make it attractive.
Or you can put your opt in form in your site, at the right and also offer a free gift but then you don't need to build another page beside your main website..
    The choice is yours ..
