Little Known Reason Why You Never Have To Purchase Copyscape...

I wanted to share a tip with you guys that I found out a couple of months ago regarding a free alternative to Copyscape.

Backstory

Between the months of December and January, I built about 20 websites to continue my internet empire. Since I didn't have the time to write my own content for each website, I ended up outsourcing some of the writing. I trained these workers every step of the way and even gave them nice Christmas bonuses to enhance our working relationship. I was naive at the time and believed that they would work with good ethics.

Fortunately, I decided to check one of the articles in Copyscape before making a larger purchase. The truth quickly hit me like a bolt of lightning. I had been deceived...

Why You Never Have to Purchase Copyscape...

After purchasing Copyscape credits, I quickly ran across a program that offers everything you get in Copyscape, but is also free.

Check out Unique Content Verifier (UN.CO.VER for short) at the following link:

Unique Content Verifier (UN.CO.VER)

Please note, I am not affiliated with this company or this program in any way.

UN.CO.VER is simply a great program that allows you all of the benefits of Copyscape without the additional cost. Also, as a desktop program, it is much easier to access. For some reason, the program receives little promotion, but is just as good as, and easier to use than, Copyscape (in my opinion).

For Those Who Care About The Conclusion of My Backstory

I spent the next month re-writing everything myself. Fortunately, there are always positives that come out of negatives. For me, I quickly realized my passion and ease for writing compelling articles and product reviews. As a former brand manager, it made too much sense for me to write for myself while outsourcing the technical aspects of my website rather than the reverse. I even turned my writing into a writing service business.

Sometimes we don't see logic when it is staring us in the face, huh?

No Matter What You Do, Protect Your Brand By Checking Your Content

While I no longer need Copyscape or UN.CO.VER for my content, I know there are those of you out there who are falling into the same trap that I did by outsourcing content to writers who are ethically questionable.

Whether you are using Copyscape or take my advice and download UN.CO.VER, I highly advice each of you to check the content from your content provider until you know you can trust him or her.

Don't make the same mistake I did by spending hundreds of dollars on copied content.

I hope this thread helps at least one of you save money or end business with an unethical writer.

    Vicone,

Glad to help. While it won't save a lot of money, it will allow easier access for content buyers to check the originality of their work.

    Will check that out.

I once hired someone and received copied and pasted content.

Thanks a LOT man. I was actually trying to find this one again. I knew about it, but for some odd reason I forgot to bookmark it and lost track of it, so this is great news.

    Keep it up.

Just for the record, none of these plagiarism checkers are guaranted. It's just the best you can do.

If the content given to you has not been indexed yet, it will pass all the checks but still could have been lifted. This is usually from writers selling the same work multiple times. Doesn't happen often - or at least, not to me, but it does happen.

    I went the same way.
After awhile, it just seemed easier to sit down and write 10 or 15 articles. The quality turns out MUCH better and, best of all, they actually say what you want them to.

    Thanks,

Yeah, they are experts at cut-n-paste and use scraping. Thank God for copy scape. Wish there was a rating system where we could give em zero stars - yes zero.

The link in the first post goes to textbroker's site and no longer works. Here is why:

UN.CO.VER is actually gone for good. A quote from Textbroker's blog:

For any authors aware of alternatives, feel free to comment on this post so that authors can continue checking their work."

A couple guys here on WF said they liked this better than Copyscape: http://plagiarisma.net/

The free version allows you to test a website up to 5 times a day.

I do all my own writing but I will check out uncover because it can save me the extra money I spend on copyscape as I run everything through it to back myself.

I just checked that link and it goes to Textbroker.
Do you know the real URL?

Your link just points to Textbroker for me: Custom Content from Textbroker®

I'm very interested in learning about the alternative, if you can point me to the right link.

    Hi,
WOW! Thanks so much for the info. I always copy the beginning sentence of an article and paste it in the search bar in Google. If it has been copied, you will see all of the articles with that same sentence in it.
Thanks again for the great tip.

There's another free one called Plagium.

I've used all of these in my work, and may I say that Copyscape is the best alternative from a pro writer's point of view. The reason for this is very simple: it costs you a nickel per article, which is nothing; and for that price you can check using the very same software your clients depend on, and you see exactly what they see. This protects your livelihood, especially important when you write for brokers who may cut off your membership for unintended copy issues.

For what it's worth, these services all produce different results. In light of that, I'd rather have the assurance of seeing exactly what my clients will see before releasing a text.

One more quick point: you can reach a whole new level of professionalism when you crack open your wallet and take advantage of at least a few productivity tools. Some are well worth the minor investment. There's a world of difference between doing everything free and adding some pro software to your toolbox. A world of difference - and it doesn't have to cost much.
