I am very new to this subject. What I need is an overview about what this is, what is online marketing? Specifically affiliate marketing. I do own my own website, and it talks all about computer parts. How could I use affiliate marketing, (or whatever type of marketing you suggest that could work better), to make some money on any products I might advertise on my site? Maybe I could even make a whole page dedicated to advertising other people's products. How can I get paid for that?

    Several ways:

    Clickbank is probably the number one affiliate go to site. You look through all the available products, services, etc. then after selecting you get an affiliate link to place on your site. When your visitors click thru and make a purchase you get a nice commission. Most sellers will provide banners, text ads, email ads, etc. to make it easier for you.

    Amazon is another avenue. With the millions of products they sell, there's an endless variety to choose from. Become an associate and you receive a commission (albeit much smaller then clickbank) if your visitors clickthru and purchase.

    And then of course there's adsense (Google). Get an adsense account and Google places ads on your site relevant to the content you have. You get paid everytime someone clicks (they don't have to purchase)

    Well I have been there, the first thing you need to do is build a loyal list of people who are interested in your product.. How can you do that ?
    The process needs work but it's not difficult .. after you make this list of people you send them valuable content and start marketing what's in your website, from list you will have your sales..
    you can just have the website and start inviting people to check your site, but believe me it's not going to work .. You will have to take each person by the hand to check your site and he won't come back ..

    Just to give you an example off the top of my head, you could recommend Clickbank antivirus information guides, registry tools and similar products/software tools on your site. There are actually quite a few computer related products on Clickbank that you can promote. Just have a look at this list to get more ideas -
