Just one, the rest I use for my own products are paid methods (PPC, Media Buys):

1. Exclusive article syndication through niche blogs and niche ezine newsletters.

And I get far more personal satisfaction from it than I do from the larger revenue I drive through paid traffic.

Article writing is hard to beat. It has a long term benefit of increasing your traffic through multiple backlinks as opposed to the few you may get on forums, facebook, etc. Not that these can't help as well.

There are sites available that can "spin" your article and submit to dozens of blogs at a time to really blanket the market.

Videos are actually a pretty powerful source of traffic, once you figure out how to create engaging ones that sustain interest and have a strong call to action - and no, this means creating them yourself and not using some artificial voice and software to automate the process for you.

You can't beat affiliates.

Motivated, dedicated affiliates do all the hard work for you.

They submit articles promoting you, create Squidoo lenses, blog for you, PPC for you, they Twitter, forum market, build lists promoting you and much, much more.

The reason I've been sharing so much good content recently is because of the fantastic comments I'm getting on my posts.

The other day one reader suggested that I sent too many emails, and then 7-8 subscribers jumped to my defence.

That's the kind of thing I love and it really motivates me to share more stuff.

I love article marketing!

Not the shove an affiliate product all up in your readers faces until their eyes bleed article marketing. You know, the write generic crap content that makes YOU fall asleep while you're writing it.

The very kind that Google karate chopped in the Nads recently.

The kind where you take a good amount of time to research and write some good stuff.

Provide quality information.

AND get loads of targeted traffic and backlinks.

It's both awesome, fun, and satisfying.

Plus, you don't have to (and don't WANT to) submit them to the same crappy "content farm" directories all the other average-below average marketers are submitting to.

You get to submit them to authority sites in YOUR niche.

The only thing that can really beat it in my opinion (in terms of long term traffic) is forum marketing.

And that takes waaaaayyyyy longer to get a good return on your time investment.

For once off bursts of organic traffic - chasing Google Trends is probably the easiest. If your site is crawled well and your on-site SEO is on track then you will get a jump on a lot of the competition, even the larger news sites.

It obviously doesn't work for all niches but for some it is ideal.

For other niches you can use Google Insights to look into the past to predict the future. This is another easy way to get the Trends data before the Trend even occurs. (Look for regular events).

Backlinking is by far the easiest way to get links. I recently downloaded a article about online marketing and SEO and it said that even no follow backlinks are useful to an extent.

Does anyone know for sure if there are any benefits to getting a no follow backlink? What will the search engines treat them as? Or do they just ignore them?

I still firmly believe that video marketing will take it's spot as the top way to get free traffic. The amount of views that you can generate is awesome. 1 video can equal hundreds of thousands of views... which can bring alot of traffic to your site.

Here are a few of the top recommendations for free traffic.

1.) Video Marketing
2.) Guest Blogging
3.) Forums
4.) Guest Commenting
5.) Blogging
6.) Facebook Fan Pages

My biggest tip is to always be building your list from these sources that way you have your own traffic.

The trick with free traffic is consistency , jumping from tactic after tactic will get you no where.

Youtube videos can get you many views, and you able to make a personal connection with your viewer.

Local television talk show production can also be a great source of targeted free buyer traffic.

Article marketing has brought me some quality buyer traffic.

But paid traffic is the best way to get traffic. Free traffic is not always scalable

The best free traffic method is SEO although it takes the right techniques and a lot of patience to achieve. Forum and blog posting are also great. advertising on facebook groups, posting videos on youtibe and tweeting out your link are also great ways to gain more exposure and social signals.
