Doughnuts!! Worth Their Weight in Gold!

Wife went to the hospital today to visit my daughter.

She decided to take along 10 jelly doughnuts.

She just called me "The Doughnuts were worth their weight in gold!" The nurses had, the doctors smelled doughnuts and came too...

not only cops like doughnuts. for $5, my wife created a lot of goodwill in the ward...

I used to be more on top of sending little gifts to people, which helped me show people how much I appreciate them.

The same is true here in IM. if someone helps you out, let them know that they have made a difference to you!

I'd personally like to Thank:

Robert Plank, Andy Havens, Bev Clement, TiffanyDow, You, and all the others that have helped me out along the way....

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

I had to click ... I love doughnuts Your post has made me hungry!

I agree, a v. small price pay for goodwill. Sometimes all it takes is note even the doughnuts but actually saying Thank You when someone helps you out.

All the best (hope your wife bought a few extra)

but the point is... all the nurses will take that extra second to be nice when we ask yet another question abut the care, blah blah...

When my dad was last in the hospital, I brought the nurses each a Marble Slab milkshake.

I know they always try to give excellent care, but when you make a gesture such as these, they really go the extra mile.

When I first came to Japan, I was building houses. We built a house for this one couple. Every time they visited the site, they always brought us a box of doughnuts and some hot coffee. Imagine how much we liked these customers.

My dad had a stroke about 18 months ago - and he was in various hospitals and rehab facilities for almost 4 months. Since I live in Cincinnati, and they are in Reno, I spent 10 days every month out there - and while there, would bake cookies and cakes from scratch for everyone, bring in pizzas for lunch, and leave homemade goodies in the fridge for everyone.....

Dad was referred to as the "cookie lady's dad" and in turn, was included in everything the staff did that was 'special' - birthdays, going away parties, etc. It made him feel more like part of the group, instead of just another patient, and several of the nurses still call to check on him and mom once a month!

A little kindness can separate you from the rest of the herd!

We went to the supermarket today and my wife bought some donuts. However, cos I am attempting to diet I was not impressed as thought it was a bit like a smoker smoking in front of someone trying to give up.

They had caramel inside. Yum Yum.

      Now I want donuts.

Good thing I bought some this morning. Pumpkin donuts. Mmmmmmmmm

Anyway, I agree. Small gestures mean so much. Just showing someone that you are thinking of them makes all the difference in the world.
