How to handle a non payment on Flippa.

I had someone come in and place a winning bid, they signed into escrow and when it came time to select a payment option but never followed through.

It has been 5 days. I did try to contact the buyer with no reply back.

How long do you wait until relisting?

Thanks,

Aaron

I've had it happen a couple of times, and I believe escrow and flippa like you to wait for a week to make sure the buyer is a no show. This is why I now have them both set up to have the buyer pay 100% for everything. That way you have much less chance of a tire kicker ruining your auction.

    Good luck w/ your auction.

Actually, I did have it set up so the buyer would pay 100% for everything. It was a buyer from Latvia so maybe once they saw what the actual fees were, they bailed.

The worst part is I paid $70+ for the listing.

        Hi Aaron,

I believe that you can dispute the sale after 3 days has passed. Flippa will then rule on the dispute.

If the buyer has disappeared it makes sense that the Flippa dispute be ruled in your favor.
After that your listing fees will be returned and Flippa will relist your site at no cost to you.

        All The Very Best,

        Tony

File a dispute in the conversations area that you have access to when completing the sale. State exactly what has happened. You initiated the escrow and you haven't heard from the buyer in days.

Then the buyer will have 3 days to reply. No reply and the dispute is automatically closed and you get your auction relisted for free.

Not too sure about upsells. It sucks to see you spent so much just trying to get it sold and the buyer was a deadbeat.

          Hope this helps

As stated above, you can lodge a dispute via your sales page on Flippa after three days. We'll give the buyer a further 3 days to respond then make a call on it. If in your favor (sounding likely) then you'll be able to relist and any upgrades you may have purchased for the original listing will be credited to your account.

Sorry to hear you had this outcome. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, the buyer will be suspended from the Flippa community.
