I want to accept payment only through Moneybooker and AlertPay

Hi Fellow warriors,
I am from Pakistan and their is no paypal in pakistan. I am planning to post ad of graphic designer in warrior for hire section.
but the problem is that is PayPal is not offering its services in Pakistan so I will use AlertPay and MoneyBooker.
some of my friends are telling me that I will not get more clients as most of the people use PayPal.
Please guide me whether I will get some potential clients or all of them will ask for PayPal
and also as their anyway or as there any other online payment system which accept money from paypal on my behalf deduct their charges and send it to my account.

    It's true that people are more used to PayPal than they are to AlertPay, but they don't need to have an AlertPay account to pay by AlertPay, just like they don't need to have a PayPal account to pay by PayPal. (You may need to make this really clear to potential customers.)

    I use PayPal, mostly, but I also have accounts with both AlertPay and MoneyBookers.

    I think AlertPay's pretty good, and very much better than its reputation, as an online credit-card processor. I've had no problems with them at all and found them easy and pleasant to deal with.

    My experiences with MoneyBookers aren't so good. Their customer service sucks. They often take nearly 2 weeks to reply to an email, for example.

    Your friends are right. According to recent stats, more than 10% of online transactions are done through PayPal. Most of the business done at WF is through PayPal. However, if you are able to establish your good reputation as a designer then I think you will still be able to get good number of clients through moneybookers and Alertpay.

    I am wonder why they are not offering their services in Pakistan, Though Pakistan is the 3rd largest outsourcing country of the world after USA and INDIA according to Elance servay.
    I have send them email but they have no strong reason for it.

      You won't change their minds about it. I suspect that being an American company, if pressed on the subject, they'll cite "money-laundering regulations" as an excuse (albeit that that seems not to apply to other companies). They perhaps simply don't want to have to comply with the additional regulatory burden that would undoubtedly fall on them under recent US legislation, by processing payments to/from Pakistan.

          Pakistan is the alliance of USA and we are suffering from it, as extremist are fighting against Pakistan, because Pakistan is supporting US in war against terrorism. So their companies and government should help people like us so that we feel that the world is supporting us, We are not alone.

              The reason actually why Paypal and other similar services are not available in other countries like Pakistan, India (for adsense western union), and others, are not political. These companies experienced many cases of scamming and fraudulent acts from these countries that's why they do not offer such services. Take a look at the case of Nigerian 419 scam. It was so controversial that made Nigeria almost non accessible to for online opportunities - because of this bad record. I am living in a small country and very very far from US but because my country has a lower record of these cases, we are enjoying all online benefits. It's the people who are to blame and not politics, neither these companies.

              My sympathy is with you and I truly understand your situation.. Good luck.
