Is this Facebook script legal?

Look at this page, and see what happens when you play the video...

OMG - That has GOT to hurt!!! Funniest Accidents Caught on Tape!

It automatically "likes" the page. If you go to your facebook page you'll see that you've "liked" the page w/ out ever clicking a "like" button.

It's a cools script, but is it legal? Or maybe I shouldn't say legal, but is it against FB's TOS?

That's probably what I should do. The only reason I noticed it, is because several people on my list had "liked" the page. I went there out of curiosity, and when I came back to facebook it was posted on my wall that I had "liked" the page.

I think I've figured out how the script is working. But not sure how to implement it. It appears as though there's a tiny (4x4 pixel) iframe following the mouse around, so that when you click anywhere on the page, you're actually clicking in the iframe, which has a like button in it.

This would most definitely be against Facebooks terms of service. You can imagine how long Facebook would last if this sort of thing continued. People's news feeds would be inundated with nonsense information and promotions they never accepted to receive.

I would not even bother trying to figure out how this was implemented - that is if you would like to keep your fanpage. I'm sure you've been around the traps long enough to know that most shortcuts usually have a very short life-span.

And think about it, what is the point of having people automatically added to your page anyway? If they never wanted to do it in the first place then it will only leave a bad taste in their mouth when they start receiving posts from you.

No, I definitely wouldn't implement it the way they have it here. But it may have some value if used right. - But you're right, I'll most likely steer clear of this one as far as facebook is concerned.
