Income from February 2011 - $1,168, My Methods

Hey fellow warriors,

Been a long time lurker of these forums, I find visiting the forums really gets me into the blogging mood and is the first place I come to get motivated to get things done.

I've been involved in blogging for almost 5 years now (started in 2006), In 2 years of blogging I was making $400/month then finally hit my goal of $2,300/month back in April of 2010 and with some money saved up I took the plunge into blogging full time.

Things didn't pan out as I'd like and I ended up going back to a 9-5. My first blog still pulls in over $1,000/month but I have a new drive and plans to get even more income than my previous high of $2300.

This time I want to document every step of the process on my new blog Life with Will (see signature), how I generate traffic, niche selection, how to stay motivated, what makes money and what doesn't.

By starting a blog to document my business goals I hope it'll make me feel more accountable and motivated to get projects done and help others reach their goals too.

Looking to network with like minded people, but as I mentioned in the subject of this post, here's how I make money from my current blog:

1) Affiliate marketing via Clickbank

I have one large authority blog where I post articles about a particular video game, I tailor all my posts around tips related to the affiliate product then mention the book if they are looking for more in-depth information (Yea, nothing new about 65% of my income comes from affiliate sales.

2) Private membership forum

After a while running the blog and getting 2,000+ rss subs, I was receiving daily emails asking for specific help. I ended up launching a vbulletin forum that was members only and charge $7/month, this accounts for 25% of my income.

3) Google Adsense

Google adsense doesn't convert nearly as well as the affiliate products but it's good to fill in certain spots that are free of ads, I like to insert them at the top left or top right within each post, then have a sqaure ad at the bottom to the affiliate product which has been the best converting area for me.

If anyone out there has a similar blog where they post about their journeys in affiliate marketing or making money online I'd like to network, either post a reply with your blog link or send me a PM.

Awesome work, and diversifying is key!

Have you thought about list building? Or are you already doing this?

If not, this could add even more to your profit, and quickly too!

    Awesome work though!
