Japan hit by powerful tsunami around 3 hours ago and the domain japantsunami2011 is sold out in all extensions.

Example:
http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?do...rog_id=GoDaddy

I understand the need to make money in hot topics but since the reference is made to the Tsunami it kind of makes me sick that people are thinking of making money from it.

I totally agree. japantsunami.org could be used in some organization helping tsunami victims but aside from that, I can't think of any better idea about these domains..

Not all domains that have thousands of visits can make money. Based on my experience on our news website, topic like accident, shooting, rape, catastrophe, and other related incidents always shows public ads when you put adsense on them......

It may be possible that GoDaddy itself registered all the domain names.. GoDaddy is known for registering domains for the keywords that people are searching and then selling them for high prices.

This makes me thing that competition in internet marketing no matter what kind of it is tough and you have to be super fast in any case.
Also the post is VERY unique and interesting.
    Thanks!

That's possible. I heard same story about godaddy registering domains years back..

You may also take a look at this.
https://flippa.com/123357 - I was actually the one who asked the seller what this domain all about (I didn't realized it was about Egypt).. and I had no idea how people can make money with the revolution-related domain. Sometimes, things are getting weird with domains.. lol

Do you have any proof of that or is it just wild speculation, rumor and something you read on the internet.

This is who bought the .com

      Registrant:
      Eric Meyer
      6406 West 81st Street
      Westchester, California 90045
      United State

We can put an end to that conspiracy theory.
Savvy and informed internet marketers with deep pockets will always be on the lookout for developing trends and opportunities, and as a result will capitalize on good domain name opportunities when they present themselves. A domain like this is a little speculative in nature, and may end up being difficult to monetize, but this is the nature of internet marketing - not every opportunity you jump on is going to be a home run or even successful, but by trying you at least give yourself a shot at it.

You totally don't understand what I mean. IMers get information faster than other journalists in monitoring currents events that they think they can make money with..... I was not saying journalists are buying domains... too shallow...LOL

      Try again...

Internet Marketers are not ahead of journalists or receiving information faster when it comes to breaking news events.

It was reported on the cable news networks live within minutes.

      Now, you try again.
I am not saying all. And oh yeah, my favorite new website not even publishing any of these news yet.... and they are one of the top global news providers... You keep things too serious.. LOL your heart... you didn't understand the hype of this title and I don't need to explain...You are considering the title tooooo literal...

BTW, should we debate over this? Do you have any other useful things to think about?.. because I have.....
