Best Free Internet Security

Twice in 2 days my PC got hacked.

If you ever come across a system that is called "System Tools" that has been placed onto your PC, don't buy it to clean your PC or you will be giving your information away to the hacker that made this system.

Get is360 and download the free system which will clear it up first time.

You must disconnect form the net to clean your system with is360.

One of the best free and lightweight (in terms of system resources) internet security software that you can get is Avast.

It has very minimal impact on your system performance (less than Microsoft Security Essentials) and scores higher in antivirus detection and elimination than Essentials.

For virus protection I use Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus - which includes free daily updates.

You'll also need a decent firewall to keep out hackers. I recommend Filseclab Personal Firewall, Free firewall, Open source code which I find much more effective than the one that comes with Windows.

    Both programs are free.

UHmmmm... ~_~ ...you can cover the basics of Internet security with an array of free antivirus and spyware detecting programs, firewalls and browsers, plus a good dose of common sense.

Avast is probably the best free anti virus but I prefer Trend Micro. It's cheap and the best anti virus I've ever found. In fact until just recently Microsoft was using it on their Hotmail platform. You used to see the little Trend logo off in the corner when you logged into Hotmail. Best thing about Trend is that it has a very small footprint.

The biggest security hole on any system is the user.

DON'T click on those little windows that pop up for no apparent reason. ESPECIALLY the ones that tell you you have security issues.
