Thesis theme question

I was looking at this theme for wordpress but the way they have the licensing confuses me. The developers option for 167 dollars says I can use on as many of my sites as I wish. What If I decide to sell the website after i build it, does the buyer need to buy a license now as well ?

Ive been reading that the person who buys a website you sell that has thesis theme would also need to buy a license is this correct?

The plans as written on the pricing page do not address your question. I am pretty sure that you would need the developer's option and that your buyer would need a license as well.

The client site option pack allows you to setup a site for somebody else using Thesis. you have to pay extra for that. I don't think that is the same as crating a site for sale. But I don't know for sure.

Safest way is probably to sell them a site license through your affiliate link.

The developer's option allows you to purchase client site options. These options allow you to deploy Thesis on clients sites without the client having to buy the theme. You just bill the client for the cost of the option.

    Linkbeasts,

Thank you for even considering paying an extended license. I am selling a Zuckerberg Theem template on here. (Search pressinface). I have sold over 400 of them and not one extended license. I eventually dropped the extended license as I know most everyone buys it and does what they want. I both appreciate that you have not tried to steal it off of a pirated site and that you would also consider buying an extended. I know this sounds bad, but policing such a license is impossible. So go with what you feel is right, but at the same time. The only thing I would not want someone to do is sell it as their own, or buy it from someone else and then expect support from it. I do know the email of the people who buy it, so that makes it easier for me to give support to those who deserve it.

You should ask the Thesis people. They will probably want an extra payment, but if you have paid for a theme attached to a URL, there should be no need to pay twice. Only the the issue of support for the new owners should be question. The Thesis people may not want to provide support for a second-hand user.

It was precisely this confusion that drove me to go to Headway and WooThemes.

I thought, and still think, Thesis offer some great themes, and ones I could use, but I was put off by the licence and decided to go for the easier option of a licence I could understand straightaway. I want to know that I'm not going to be embarrassed by getting it wrong for a client nor do I want to be paying for things I don't have to.

In fairness I can understand why Thesis have the licence as they do but I think it would help if things were simplified.

Its like an additional $40 for your client to have the theme issued and branded by your company. I did also purchase the Thesis and the Genesis theme set. With Thesis Developers option and I am going to verify this right now....hold on........okay here is the exact verbiage from the site:
A single Client Site Option is $40, but you can also purchase 5 and 10-site Client Options for $36/site and $32/site, respectively.
