Busy website but no sales

Hi

I just wanted to ask a question we have a website (not setup for affiliate marketing) that has one of the top keywords from last year in its domain, its receives a minimum of 350 hits per day, the average being 400-500 hits, this is all organic! I know a bit about internet marketing but not enough to utilise such a huge opportunity, we have affiliate products up and adsense, but still we cant get an income from it.

Does anyone have any ideas or any courses that can be bought to teach us how to utilise this traffic?

Many thanks

Amanda

    Is the traffic targeted?
    What products are you promoting.

I know some warrior would hate it but nothing comes close to getting optins using exit popups. Atleast capture the leads and then follow up with them with your product promotions.

We need more details to be able to help you

You have to choose a similar niche product as your site. It is not possible to get sale from a "how to lose weight product" on the "dog training" website.

You must targeted your visitors to your product which you are promoting. If not targeted but a lot of visitors you can make money with Adsense

Without seeing your web site all the feedback you will get is purely theoretical and guesswork. If you do not want to post your site link then PM me and I can perhaps help.

      Hello

thanks for all the replys, we do get around £1 per day with adsense. Just seems a shame to waste the hits as a lot of people are not wanting to buy the product as its a living animal but are there out of curiousity

Unfortunately I cant send Pm's our website is micro pigs UK I cant post links either, we do have another one similar but it gets less hits normally around 100, its a UK website

        Hi

        Some suggestions.

        1) The adsense block is lower right below the fold.

It would be better above the fold. Google Adsense suggest the best position for their ads - see Adsense heat map

        2) Also the Adsense ads are not related to your content! I think in your case Adsense is not a good way to monetize.

Suggest you could target pet owners? Off the top of my head: do people who keep pigs as pets buy accessories for their pets? Perhaps specialist pet pig food?

        3) You have 3 blocks of ads rhs above Adsense ad block. All are not related to your very niche market. Free Nintendo, We Buy Gold and No Credit Check Loans.

Suggest more targetted product offerings. Pig pet owners?

        Good luck.

If I ever want to buy a pet pig...I know where to come.

I agree with the affiliate offers. They are not targeted at all! Adsense banners would work better and you should look into a heat map adsense theme to improve CTR.

See if they keywords are right, an as they say. You must see that the domain name is correct with the content in it

    Hello,

From what you said 350 hits that is not much at all.

You should not be looking at hits anyway a hit is measured...

Lets say If you have a page with 10 pictures, to view that page generates 11
hits (10 for the pictures, and one for the html file).

A single page view can contain hundreds of hits for everything it loads on your
    site.

So 350 hits is not very much and could only be one or two people going there.

Relatively low traffic (hits vs unique visitors) and a live product make for difficult climb to increasing sales.

Perhaps a sideline of the various support products needed for your main product. With dogs and cats, it's crates, toys, and training aids. With micro-pigs, I'd expect much the same. Just about anything a dog or cat owner would want could be adapted to your product.
