Wordpress Blogs vs. Wordpress Fixed Sites

I'm just getting started with website and would like to build some niche sites. I was considering starting Wordpress blogs, but I'm not sure I want to have to update them on a schedule. Do Wordpress fixed sites do as well as blogs? Also, any suggestions on an information product that shows you how to be successful with Wordpress sites? Thanks for your input.

WP site is a WP site. Do you mean if you post content once and never update? Sure this works. Get a good keyword domain name and you have a good chance of appearing on Google SERPs page 1 with very little effort and no updating.

Whether you are using Wordpress or not, sites that are updated with fresh, unique and quality content will do better than those static sites or blogs that are never updated.

Sites built with Wordpress but never updated... I gather?

At the end of the day Wordpress is just a blog platform that makes setting up a search engine friendly site a lot easier. You can still set up a site without using Wordpress that can do just as well or even better than a Wordpress site. The platform you use to publish your site is not the deciding factor here. Your content, seo, how often you update your site, etc is what will make the difference.

You mean posting for a week and then never look back at the site to add content? It might work if you are in a very uncompetitive niche. Search engines are always hunting for original content.

Just because you are using wordpress doesnt mean you have to update it regularly, I have plenty of sites built on wordpress that I dont update and they do fine.

In fact, my method is to work a site until it gets where I want it to be and then I basically do nothing to it save maybe add a new article or a couple of backlinks a year. have sites that are over 5 years old that maintain their rankings and bring steady money year after year without me doing anything to them.

But, if you do update your site regularly then you are adding more content and, therefore, more places for you to be found in the search engines, thus more traffic and (hopefully) earnings.

There's no "magic" to a wordpress blog although many people seem to think there is. The only thing magical is that it automatically categorizes your posts and makes a sitemap and rss feed. But as far as search engines go Google does not "love" wordpress sites more than other sites.

In the end, it all comes down to the keywords you are targeting and your ability to get traffic to your site. Whether you are using wordpress or anything else is inconsequential.

Totally agree. So do I. SE's rank individual pages.
