Viral Inviter TAF Script - Emailing?

I am looking into using Viral Inviter as my TAF.

But, I am not clear on HOW the list that collected list is emailed?

Is the only choice to have a server based email client send out email addresses that are collected?

Or can Getresponse be used?

Any help you can give me would be appreciated!

Also, sidenote - the Trafficxplode video shows that email addresses were collected with Aweber but last I heard this was against Aweber policy?

THANKS for your help

    HI,

I developed a complete viral inviter called The Tsunami Effect. The email addresses aren't 'collected' per se, they are just pulled, stored temporarily in a session, and then sent when you hit submit. You can purchase The Tsunami Effect in the WSO forum for $99 installed on your server. PM me if you have any further questions.

Is auto playing music on a site keep visitors engaged? I went to check out the Tsunami report but I could not stand the music and left after 30 seconds.

    Justin,

Viral Inviter (and similar TAF programs) are set up to run off your server, not Aweber or Getreponse, etc.

I can also tell you that if the people who use the Viral Inviter type script have large contact lists, or many people use it at once, be wary if you are on a shared hosting account.

If you create any issues on the server, at best, they will kill the script while it's running. At worst, you'll get shut down and booted from your host.

If it's not a high traffic site, you most likely won't have issues. VI is pretty stable and I haven't seen it cause any issues...

As for Aweber, it is against their policy to use a script to simply send leads into an autoresponder (scripting leads they call it). However, some scripts simply allow a way to use Awebers form parameters to capture leads on their site, so the form itself is actually an Aweber form.

The idea is that the IP address of your subscriber must be THEIR IP address. When you script leads, they're sent from your IP address. That's a no-no.

    Justin,

I have a client who recently ran a campaign (product launch) and used Viral Inviter. While he said that the script executed flawlessly, the ratio of visits vs. conversions was dismal. He is accomplished in his promotional emails, but he said the effect he had hoped for wasn't there.

He also had a couple of SPAM complaints, which was enough for him to stop using it.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    John

Just got this product, not being a javascript wizard ... kinda tuff to customize any of the pages / forms used to invite!!!

I guess if you like one of the 3 possible themed form layouts you'd be great. I think the invite forms are a bit minimalist .... in that saying the "password" for their AOl/Gmail etc account "[wont be saved]" is a not a real TRUST builder phrase :-) might need a bit more text explaining that you wont do ominous things to their account....

Cant seem to adjust the form width dimensions [easily] - Im sure if your an html wiz and javascript wiz - you're good ta go.

The backend mechanics all seem to be solid, and if I can get it to match my intended users comfort level and style it should be a great feature.

Trying to get this up and rocking by 1/1/09

No one around during this holiday time to answer support q's ....

Anyone else using ViralInviter and has successfully "customized" it ?

Really frustrated with this right now. Thinking filsaimes Viral Friend Generator might have been the better tool, easier to implement, less expensive - sometimes simpler is better?

Im into this tool/code lurking for at least 10 hrs now - and still no joy. With all the CSS and javascript the simplest things are so conveluted and all over the place.

All I want to do is change some simple text on the invite form, mod the forms width, and to have it break out of an iframe on submit ... Id also like it to default to MANUALLY add 4 friends [4 more referrals :-) ]... not try and get into their gmail/yahoo/aol etc ... accounts

Will people really input their online email account password into a unknown persons FORM?

Guess I got caught up in all the hype of the video thinking people will crack open their address book to refer a zillion friends - if the incentive is good enough ...

What I wanted was a form to allow people to refer friends and colleagues. Track it and send rewards for the referrals.

          What I got was :

          - 3 html editors tested
          - several google searches for CSS and javascript tutorials
          - several support tickets unanswered
          - countless hrs of frustration
          - $197 less in my paypal
          - a quick lesson on creating a php db in my cPanel

Anyone else using this thing ... modifying it?

I have Filasaime's TAF and went with VI because of it's abilities to have people import people's email addresses directly from their email address.

I figured facebook does it successfully, I should give it a try to.

No worries on your end - if it doesn't work out just ask for a refund.

Im just confounded by the fact that it appears the simplest of tweaks is a HUGE issue - ohhh like changing the forms field labels to something a bit more US English-esque. making the forms width fit on my TY Page ... Default look and feel settings.
