Selling a site, What it's worth?!?!

Today I came across an e-mail in my inbox and I was simply offered $4,500 for my website. I did indeed put a lot of time and effort into this site/product. I haven't technically launched it yet, but it is out there. So I have have to know. Am I getting ripped off or is that offer to good? I have my ebook, newsletters, and website all in place, but no list or real no traffic to the site.

Please let me know what you think and how much would you want a broker to pay if this was your site.

I am still debating if I should sell and create something different and take the money. I would gain in this because I did learn a lot through creating this product.

Thanks for your opinion, here's the site: EZ Jays Real Estate Success System - "I Will Expose for You the Insider's Secret that Professionals Use to Make a Killing in Real Estate -- And it Works Regardless of the Economy"

Well if i were you i would give it a test run for 1 month if you make 4000 in the first month or even just 500 in the first month i probably wouldnt sell it.

Because though the cash sounds very nice now if over a year you could make 10,000 off the site its not worth it.

In that case the site would be worth more like 15-20 grand

    Just my thoughts

How much did you plan to make with it?

I know we can never nail it to the penny, but you should know roughly what your "target" is...

A lot more than $4,500? If so, keep it and move forward with your plan for world dominance

Site selling price is usually based on the current income of the site. Receiving an offer out of the blue like that, without the person first wanting details like that - I'd be very wary that it wasn't some sort of scam to be honest.

Be very careful about this, it smells like a scam. Genuine buyers just do not make offers like this without knowing the revenue stats first. The only exception woiuld be that the domain itself is very valuable on its own.

Lots of people have been scammed where the buyer paid with a hacked PayPal account and the transaction is prompty reversed by PayPal within a few days. If you must sell this, you must do it through Escrow.

Sounds like a scam, or one of your friends hiding behind an anonymous email address.

its worth $24.95 because its only 2 months old, the layout needs work and content needs improvement. Whoever offered you $4k is a wacko and you should take the money but be safe. He might be a smart wacko. lol

Haha well said actually. So people usually sell their site when traffic is hitting it?

As an exxperienced site flipper, I cab state here without fear or favour that that mail is scam.

I have had several of these scam emails. Now let me show you that it ould be a scam. Once you receive these types of mail, rush to google and paste the email and name and search. You will be surprised to see such scam letters are all flowing.

At best, the "prospect' will ask you to click on a link and appraise your site for the value and he gets an affiliate payment when you buy appraisal.

Best Ways To Flip Your Site: You must use a broker such as sedo.com or afternic.com to flip your site and avoid these pitfalls.

I say go for $10,000 dollars

this will give you plenty of capital to reinvest in your business, which will lead to even bigger and better things.

When you ask is it worth it. Sit back and think how many actual hours you put in to this site.

Measure you blood sweat and tears. Only you can decide what you are worth.

If you done it once you can do it again, now you have experience and another product Idea out of the situation.
