My first sale without website

I was trying too much to be successful in internet marketing for two years but after trying too much time and spending money before six months ago I made my first sale of $152. I was surprised and happy. It was an unforgettable moment for me.What you say friends!

I'm torn-on one hand I'm happy for you, and want to say congratulations, but on the other, I want to ask you this: did you make the money in one day with the product you're selling in your sig file, which promises to provide a "formula to earn daily $150 or more"?

I think it's fine to sell a method you haven't done, if it's an affiliate product from a reputable source that has other social proof, (like a stop smoking product, when you aren't even a smoker) but if it's your own method that you developed, shouldn't the teacher be able to produce the results consistently for at least, I don't know...a week, before taking money to teach others how it's done?

Adam Smith's invisible hand will take care of that... Who cares? Let him do his thing.

Good job on the sale though Martin.

        Totally Agree with Nate..

who say's you need to have experience in what you promote..

congrats on the first sale. most people would have quit if they where you, but don't get complacent... Most results are not achieved by doing nothing!

        Good job though.

I don't know who says that, certainly not me...if you're promoting something created by someone who knows their stuff. I could be wrong, but my strong impression is he's selling his own "secret".

If he's actually selling a product by someone else who knows what they're talking about, let him correct me, and I'll correct my post. If he's selling his own method, I think my question "shouldn't the teacher be able to produce the results?" is more than fair.

Check out this thread he started today in the main discussion area, in which his one line first post asks what method people are using for internet marketing, and if they are making sales yet: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post3532911

Notice the 4th post (left 8 minutes after he started the thread-by someone with 6 posts to her name), that says: "Dear martingray I bought your secret formula yesterday from your signature link and made a total sale $160 from your secret $150 earning formula."

On the blog his sig links to, at the time of my comment, the only comment he had was from someone asking for his money back because he said he tried the method and it didn't work. Today that's gone, but there are two rave reviews in it's place, both referring to "your secret formula", just as the quote above.

Setting aside the fact that the verbiage (not just that phrase) is so similar, all the reviews could have been written by the same person, and all three rave reviews came in today, am I way off base in thinking every review wouldn't likely feature the phrase "your secret formula", if the guy was selling an affiliate product?

I think the OP is an adult, so I'm sure he's capable of speaking for himself. You well meaning Warriors are rushing to his defense against my rather mild criticism (tempered by my first sentence where I expressed mixed feelings), as if he was a baby whose mouth I just pulled the bottle from, and was about to hit with a stick-very maternal of you, but unnecessary.

Congratulations on your sale. Two years is a long time but it seems that you're relentless and willing to try other methods to generate some income. Can you briefly describe what you did and where did you get the idea?

Congratulations on your sale! I admire your tenacity. As far as not being a living model for walking the walk, who cares as long as what you're preaching is genuine and viable. Keep it up. One day you can sell an ebook about sticking to it through thick and thin and blowing up into a huge success one day out of the blue! Don't let the haters get you down!

Seriously mate? This is how words lose their meaning. If expressing mild criticism of a particular behavior makes me a "hater", what new word are we going to have to come up with for people that actually do hate someone?

If you want to know "who cares" if someone walks the walk, read any of thousands of posts throughout the forum, where people express far stronger sentiments than I did, against the practice of trying to make a buck by teaching methods for making money online when you haven't been able to make anything from those methods-are you kidding?-the entire forum is full of people calling BS on that.

In fact, plenty of people here disagree with my moderate position that it's fine to make your first dollars selling a make money online product by someone else that is an expert. My critique was pretty muted, and as stated above, if it turns out the OP is actually selling a legitimate product from a true expert, I'll correct my post.

But if he's selling his own "secret formula", how the heck does he know it's "genuine and viable" since he clearly hasn't tested it, or worse, tested it and it failed? He obviously can't possibly know. It's like selling a book on how to make a million bucks, in order to make your first million.

Well done Martin, you must be very pleased. Is this the first $152 you made without a site? I only ask as I'm sure I saw a thread you started yesterday where you said you'd made ten sales and all in you'd made $127? (I think).

I assume this must be with this method.

Did you do it using the $150 a day method in your signature? I'm interested how you did this with no site.

Greg Guitar you just took the bath and started running after this guy...
give it a break he is happy because he made his first sale so let him enjoy and be motivated with it rather than be jealous.
Regarding him selling a product which has not earned him a money - may be he doesn't worked hard on applying the method, and did more work on developing it...
And it's the buyers responsibility to completely check what they are buying...
    Congratulations buddy.

@Greg Guitar.....Hey man I think your post isn't knocking "Martinguy" who started the thread at all. He's actually just holding him accountable for what he posted. GregGuitar did mention the other thread that was started by "Martin Guy" regarding a fellow warrior wanting his money back being deleted and replaced with positive comments all with the wording of "your secret formula" "Marting Guy's" actions does raise some suspicions as to how he is producing the results.

He could have made the 150.00 selling a t.v!

For example, and this is a true story

I made 75.00 today! Yes today.... wanna know how I did it? By selling my 80G classic ipod and ipod radio/alarm dock.

We really don't know from his post how he generated the funds and I think that this is very important when you come on WF because there are so many newbies here just trying to make their first buck. If he can provide info on how it was done or even what he did then that will give us somewhere to start and rationalize his post by thinking okay he got his funds by doing xy and z. Consistency in his story and credibility would make it easier for me to congratulate him..

"I was trying too much to be successful in internet marketing for two years but after trying too much time and spending money before six months ago I made my first sale of $152. I was surprised and happy. It was an unforgettable moment for me.What you say friends!"

His post is so vague its like come on.......no he doesn't have to own the product, or even have tried it out if its from a reputable company or person....but to come here and start a thread titled "My first sale without a website" today for a sale six months ago is just to inconsistent for me. IF you make your first sale would YOU wait six months to tell ppl? What happened after that?

The statement is so generic I can smell something fishy....I'm a chef and by the way.... fresh fish never smells.

I said what I had to say in my original post-and would have been done-but for the ridiculous defensive comments that followed-none from the OP. He's a big boy; why don't you show him a little confidence in his ability to speak for himself if what I said was wrong? If you're anxious for me to shut it, you might want to stop defending him and making wild speculations as to my state of mind when I made my mild critical comment.

I'm not too proud to admit when I'm wrong-if someone shows me I am. All you've shown me, besides a bias against critical comments regardless of their merit, and a tendency to shoot from the hip, is lopsided reasoning that holds sellers completely unaccountable and immune from criticism, while shifting the entire onus for any bad purchase on to the buyer.

What you've totally failed to address is that people selling "make money" advice products that never tested their own methods is actually a big problem in the marketplace, particularly here on the forum. It's been complained about far more vociferously than I did, endlessly in many threads. It's not like I said anything new or controversial-like I said it was mild and measured.

Your defense of the seller "may be he doesn't worked hard on applying the method, and did more work on developing it... " couldn't be any weaker, and makes me wonder if there is anything you wouldn't defend.

Obviously, if his ad copy is truthful, he won't have to work very hard to walk his talk-he promises the "secret" to "easy" money-at least $150 a day. It either works or not; if so, he should be encouraged to follow it-which I did encourage, and if not, he should find something else to sell-there are plenty of good ones to choose from. End of subject unless someone else in your clan wants to jump in and speak for your brother who you apparently believe can't speak for himself.
