            Wow!

It looks like it has been dealt with already (unless this one is a bit smarter and has just changed their user title to Banned to try and stave off the execution a bit longer?!

A big thank you to the Mods yet again.

His life is already miserable. Why do you think he's doing it?

        Edit:
        Someone beat me to it.

If you start a thread discussing a troll - he wins because he's getting attention for being stupid. Same if you argue with him. Report and ignore is the best option to frustrate these idiots.

Or making people aware right away get's enough people reporting it so he doesn't have a chance to do as much havoc.

I could have reported and ignored but I thought since I noticed him right away and what he was up to that I would report it and give a heads up so others could do the same since "we are the mods" and need more than just one person reporting a thread to get it removed.

I thought the people doing the wso's would appreciate it that he gets removed as quickly as possible by alerting others so they can go report him also instead of letting him go on his rampage hoping that others would eventually catch on to what was happening.

I thought the right thing to do was speak up and get rid of him before he could try to ruin to many wso's.

Some people might not notice what's happening and not buy, then leave the forum before knowing what was going on and someones reputation could be harmed.

I just did what I felt was the right thing to do and what I would appreciate if someone was trying to destroy my wso.

            Aaron

P.s. There recently was someone who came in doing the exact same thing and got to 30+ wso's before he got tossed. I saw he was back and reported him before he could do it again.

The problem with trolls in the WSO comments section is that the comment may have the effect of slowing or stopping WSO sales, hurting the OP.

If a WSO is new, at the top of the list, a popular topic, from a popular poster, (I could keep going here but you get the idea), the sales potential is much greater if the comments are positive on the product and/or request further info or go into explanations than if there are spammy negatives posted to intentionally hurt the WSO's viability.

On the one hand, I look to see how long the person running the WSO has been a warrior. On the other hand, how many readers pay close attention to "who" is posting, their message count and how long they have been a member? I do that too, and for me, some new posters get more of a skim than a read sometimes...

So how to stop it? Short of an all-moderated wso comment policy, (reeediculous) the best way is to see a pattern, report it and then make others aware with a general announcement like this one.

Thanks for the heads up to the OP!

some dude who joined december made 16 pointless posts in the Programming Talk section. You need to watch for these people as they could be buildong up a post count to submit a dodgy WSO. Check the Programming Talk section and put his/her name on your warning radar.

Excellent point - and the last thing we need right now - there have been enough of them already. Pretty sure this is the same one that made negative comments on my recent WSO as well.....and under another name made almost identical comments on my post in the main forum about the same topic as my WSO........

      I guess everyone needs a hobby - but I don't need a stalker......

Someone has been posting the same message on all of the WSO threads claiming them all to be scams.

Not too smart as their tactics are easily discovered simply due to the fact that they don't give any real evidence or constructive criticism. The posts are also the same in every WSO.

Anyway, it's been dealt with now, hopefully for the last time, (but I won't be holding my breathe - there's always scum that want to try and ruin other peoples' reputations)!

But that doesn't make any sense. What is the point in doing that?

There really is no point in doing it! Sadly I don't think the people that do this have an ounce of sense between them.

We can all see that it a pointless waste of time. We can all see that it is unethical and just wrong on all levels. The people that do it however don't see this! It's not a lck of an education, it's a lack of a brain, FULL STOP!

They're probably either doing it just as an after-school activity for them (assuming they are at the immature age that they come across as) or as a way for them to try and boost their backlinks to their promotions.

The last one ain't too smart however as, unless they offer value of some sort here then people will get frustrated with them and start complaining to those that matter. With the kind of posts they were putting up it wasn't going to take long before they were booted off the forum for good - and good riddance to them!

I have the belief that it is just a bored school kid that thinks what their doing is funny; at least this is what I want it to be.
