I second the motion but that was 5 years ago for me. Now MLM is not a good business model in this day and age. The only people making a wad of cash are the owners with a snake oil product.

We can relate to that. But we're now working on all of them getting them up, running and making income.

Ha ha same for me i have bought well over 50 domian names over 4 years and the first 10 or 15 were bought before i even new what SEO was, so you can imagine the crappy sounding names i bought myself, thinking at the time that they were great names.

I'm with you my friend....wasted too much time chasing the rainbow. My advice, stick with something that works, don't get caught up in the sales hype.

I have to agree with you there. Alot of warrior special offers are made up of Private label rights content, they have simply replaced the signature with there name and slapped on a killer sales page.

This doesnt go for all warriors but a good handfull at least.

One of the many mistakes that I made in the beginning, which I still make mistakes but not as big and not as many, is not looking for references.

And of course one of the best references to validate or even contemplating a purchase is right here at the Warrior Forum.

Either people already have an opinion or there are reviews made and that has helped me a ton in figuring out on whether or not to pursue a new technique/software.

People here are savvy marketers and have a sense for software, and knowing what ebooks deliver and which ones do not.

My biggest mistake at the beginning was to think I could achieve big goals before actually reaching small goals first. Like the wise business men always say "you have to learn how to do the small things before doing the big things".

My biggest mistake was churning out a website, and then wanting to make the next website before adequately promoting/building links to the first site. I'd always get new ideas and new domains and want to start on another project before fully fleshing-out the one I just launched.

Remember: anyone can build (or have built) a website. But only a VERY select few know how to optimize, promote, and drive traffic. That's the hard part.

Other mistakes to avoid as a rookie:

1. Don't expect instant results. Traffic takes time. Sites you launch right now aren't going to show significant results (or profit) for months. Keep that in mind.

2. Don't give up. Getting discouraged over the fact you're "not making any money" is the #1 reason people can't hack it as an affiliate marketer. And that's good news for the rest of us who are willing to stick it out, put in the extra effort, and reap the long-term benefits.

3. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Because someone could smack that basket right out of your hand at any time. Just ask Ezine.

I'll just a list a few mistakes so I don't take up too much room...

1. I tried not to make any mistakes. Ended up over-thinking, spending way too much time trying to create the perfect, complete system with multiple products, all optimized for every stage of the sales funnel etc. etc. Think about what you're doing, but don't try to do everything just right the first time.

2. Not being yourself. This is an easy trap when you are trying to do niche marketing. If you want to be truly successful, you need a niche that you can get involved in. If you hate dogs, then don't go for dog training. There is probably a niche somewhere for dog haters . If you try to sound like someone you are not, and talk about things you have no interest in, then not only will you fail to capture any audience, let alone sales, but you are going to be miserable. Remember that awesome sales page that made you buy your first course? Its all about freedom, not building a new cage for yourself.

Some products actually do work.. but it's being able to separate the wheat from the chaff that matters.

My biggest mistakes were rushing my projects and expecting a quick return. As you become a little bit more experienced along with it you become more patient.

I used strategies that couldn't work, but could work for others as well. The primary aspect of any online business is to know how it actually work and study the frame work and have the necessary tools and strategies to achieve success.

For me that would be the failure to pick ONE METHOD, and refine it into a system.

The rule must be INTENSITY over EXTENSITY.

Pursuing 20 different strategies at once = Fail.

This is quite common, the worst thing for people to do is buy book after book, and read and read and then realise by the end of teh week, they have done absolutly nothing with the info they have floating around in thier mind.

Do a hell of a lot of research, put something together thats unique and overall delivers quality. Then you will be fine!

I's say don't chase the next big dream. Work on your passion and turn it into something profitable or develop a product or service that you are passionate about.

Funny but that is the single thing that changed my business. I was literally making a few dollars a week until I built a list and started communicated.

I have helped a few warriors do the same. I still do not know why me and others thought not having a list does not matter. Well it does, and why do you think JV's work so well, cause you are using someone else's list. It is called leverage.

I dare you to try to build a list in this IM game, the results will actually alarm u and you will be wondering what the hell you were doing and why you didnt start doing it ages ago.
