Am I Being Retargeted?

I don't know why but every time I browse websites. I keep seeing icontact banner on different sizes. Is this retargetting at work?

    I doubt it.

Most webmasters simply have a choice what size ads to place on their sites.

If you've been to the icontact website recently or clicked on one of their ads, then yes, that is retargeting.

Yes, like Kirk said, if you revisited their website, you are definitely being re-targeted. I've been seeing Powerwashersdirect ads for the last month after a site visit. Shoemoney does a decent amount of retargeting as well.

How do they do retargeting then?

So that's why I see their banner ads all over the place! I use I-contact and thus go to their site on a daily basis. Never heard of re-targeting. Initially, I thought this thread was going to be about someone who was found out by a mob family.

You can do it through Google Adwords, I think they call it re-marketing.

      1) You first need to visit Site A and get cookie'd.
      2) You leave and browse the web.
      3) Ads display on the content network for Site A. You're the only person that sees them, others are delivered other advertising.

There are few things quite as stupid as wasting your banner impressions on someone who is ALREADY your customer. It's not like you're going to buy multiple iContact accounts, is it?

I've figured that since I visited iContact now I see their ads everywhere... The funny thing is, I am already a customer so their ads displaying in front of me is a waste of money imho.

Yes, me too. I keep seeing that green banner of different sizes wherever I go.
Is this Google adwords at work? Or another ad network company?
There is no the usual "Ads by Google" at the bottom of the banner
