Newbie Advice From A Newbie

Although I am making some money now it is no where near what a lot of people here make, but hopefully this will help a few of the Newbie's out since I stil consider myself one.

While there is no doubt that this forum is a gold mine of information it is also a place that will eat up all your time that you could be using to do some work.

I'm guilty of it myself in more ways than one. A couple of weeks ago I started to see some money comming in from a couple things I was doing. Excited I came to this forum to hunt down a few more ideas to boost what I was already doing.

Needles to say I spent a couple hours reading different threads for a couple of days about this and that when all along what I need to do was right in front of me! I just needed to do more of what I was doing!

Once I realized this my weekly totals have gotten larger and larger over the past 3 weeks. This week I am sitting at over $375.00. Now I know that is peanuts to most but to someone who had only made $36.00 in their first 2 months of attempting to make money it sure puts a smile on my face.

Long story short, find an idea and work on it! Stay the hell out of this forum once you understand how to implement the process. You are just wasting valuable time looking instead of working and getting information overload at the same time.

There are many threads that people have gone into great detail, even step by step, so you can follow it.

Know going into it that if you are new to this you are not going to see a shitload of money overnight. Find an idea that people are sucessful with, duplicate the process, put some effort into it and make some money.

If you can make $100.00 with a method you are using then just repeat the method with something else. Then repeat it again and again and again and again and again. After you have repeated it that many times THEN come back here and look for something else if your bored of that.

You would be suprised at how generous some people are on this forum with their time if they know you are truly trying. Find the person who started the thread about the system you are going to use and PM asking if they would mind answering a few questions. Maybe they will help, maybe they won't but the worst they can say is no! I don't think anyone has ever died because someone told them no. Or go to the WSO section and find one that teaches you a system.

What I have figured out over the last 3 weeks of working instead of reading, is that this is not rocket science! I was the most computer illiterate person alive before I started. Matter of fact I hated computers, but something happens when you start to see money comming in from your work. It's like some kinda drug to refresh the clickbank account and see if you have gotten another sale.

Hope this helps some newbies out.

Good post Bryan. Great to see others making money, no matter the amount. Actually, that's not bad money, more than most entry level jobs! And it's just the beginning..

    Keep it up!

Congrats on your success thus far, Bryan!

You are correct when you suggest that many people spend FAR too much time hanging out on forums, and not enough doing the actual work.

However, I would stop short of saying "Stay the hell out of this forum once you understand how to implement the process".

Even though you may master a particular process that has brought you some success, your education is FAR from over. In this forum, there are things to be learned EVERY SINGLE DAY....new ideas, new concepts, new methods, and probably most important of all, new RELATIONSHIPS to be made.

I think the important idea here is: BALANCE. You need to learn how to use your time wisely. You need to teach yourself how to be cognizant of HOW and WHERE you are spending your time. This forum is a GOLDMINE of inofrmation and relationships. It can also be a LANDMINE of wasted time IF you are not aware of what you are doing.

Balance. That's the key word here.

I understand what you are saying and I agree with you that you never stop learning. But for someone who is new to making money online I believe it is the truth. There are so many, myself included that have spent way to much time in here and not enought time working. Don't get me wrong anytime I see a post from certain people I jump in there to read it to see what I can learn. I could spend a whole week in here just reading but that would get me no where unless I put it into action.

I meant nothing derogatory about that statement. It is just my way of saying that once you find something to work on that people have had sucess with and it's something you have decided to try, then there is no reason to come back here and search for other things until

1.You have a question about the process
        2. you have "masterd" that process or
        3. you just want to try something else.

#3 however is the killer for most of us newbies. We always want to find what is going to work right now, not necessarily what will work after we have put our time in.

For those who are experianced this forum gives you great info everyday that you can put into use with everything else you are already doing. And I would never say to stay away from here to someone that can handle all the wealth of information.

For those of us that are just beggining however, I think it's best to find one thing and concetrate on that until you are ready to move on. When you move on is up to each individual. This was directed at newbies and definatly not at anyone who has any type of experiance.

        Just my opinion though.

Spending "some" time on the forums should be part of the business in my opinion. Great way to network for one, traffic, links, ect.

Ron I comletely agree with you, but using the forum as a way to network, get traffic and links is all part of the process of what you are doing. If you have no process that you are working on then you won't be getting any traffic or links by reading. That was my whole thing with this. Get a process and follow it. Don't explode your head with more ideas than you can handle until your ready. This was definatly not meant for people with experiance. Just for those starting out and not having any success or direction to go.

Good Advice! I find myself doing the same thing..or reading thru all of the emails I receive from the lists I've subscribed to.

At the end of the day always ask yourself "What did I accomplish?"

It is important to refine, perfect and duplicate a process
that works for you before moving on to the next thing. It
is also critical to spend time researching new methods and
current events via online business forums without spending
too much time on non-productive timewasters.

Unfortunately, this is easier said than done.

      Hi, Bryan;

I DO understand what you are saying, and I agree with you for the MOST part. One of the biggest problems newbies have is "analysis paralysis", where they hang out on forums, trying to get that one BIG idea that will propel them into IM nirvana.

My main concern was simply the statement" "Stay the hell out of this forum once you understand how to implement the process".

Again...it's balance. Spend SOME time on the forums. Spend MOST of your time building your business.

        Hi David,

I get what your saying I meant no ill will by that statement by any means to this forum. If it wasn't for this forum I would have never gotten this far. Just my way of saying get to work! Maybe I could have worded it better.

AWESOME! There are sooooo many ways to make a living online. It can be so hard to just pick one and work it until you see success. But you are so right many times all you need to do ---- is do more of that thing. Remember to keep it simple!
