List of 3648, now what do I do!? LOL

Hey fellow warriors.

I have started this thread as I have no idea where to go with my list of 3648 subscribers, and growing.

I spent a year mastering adsense and I am fortunate enough to make be making a full time living from adsense and amazon which pays me quite well ;-) I didn't purchase any WSO's or anything like that, I just picked up what I could on this great forum and started implementing techniques, learning from trial and error.

Anyway, enough of the chit chat. Having heard that the money is in the list I set out to build my own list in a niche that is quite popular and has a number of products available at places such as clickbank etc.

As foolish as it may sound for 3 months straight I have been building this list not even contemplating what to do next, how to do it etc etc. Even though it's the wrong time to ask questions like this, I even feel quite stupid doing so, what do I do now.

How did I get this list? .....
  1. Found a niche that was popular and had a lot of buyers
  2. Created an optin page which would capture email and name in exchange for 27 page report relating to niche. ( Split & Set to drip feed over 3 month period)
  3. Started article marketing furiously for 3 months straight, with each article getting on average 20%-30% CTR.

I having promoted any products to the list, I have just been gathering up as many leads as possible. Here are some of the questions that have been bugging me....

How often do I promote an offer to my list
When do I promote an offer to my list
How do I promote offers to my list
Am I on the right path?

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone experienced with list building. I seem to have jumped the gun not planning what to do next but instead just doing what other successful guys on ezine do without sorting the logistics out beforehand lol.

      Hey garamiller

      Thanks for your response.

In response to your suggestion that I very much appreciate I understand that choosing an affiliate product relating to my niche is the way to go. The problem is, for me anyway, is how I go about forwarding this to my list, how often, etc etc.

I am totally clueless, I have just jumped in the deep end.

I take it clickbank would be the place to go?

          Garamiller...

I totally agree. Do you think I would be better off creating my own product for this niche then?

How often do you guys promote to your list? once month? twice?

          Much appreciated

Let me tell it straight, I only have 832 people's list in one of my niche. I promote a product to them only once in 2 months and guess what more then 80% people buy that product. Making email list is not hard but making fully targeted and desperate list is hard. And it is even harder to built that much trust to get 80% conversions.
Cool, thanks for that. Just what I was looking for. :-)

are you emailing them regularly with information pertaining to your niche? you don't want them to become unresponsive, you want to make sure that them seeing you in their inbox on a daily basis is as common as them breathing....haha....I have an extremely responsive list mainly because I follow the 80/20 rule....give them valuable content 80 percent of the time and promote products (that you have bought and recommend) the other 20 percent of the time

      Hey Danielsteven

Thats the thing, I haven't emailed them at all. I assume they still responsive as I set my report, which is split, to feed to there email for a 3 month period. As mentioned I started this 3 months ago, so now is the time I start interacting with them etc.

      Boy, what a pickle....

Find a product related to your niche. Write a review for it and mail it out to your list. Simple and effective.

Start with Clickbank, they have a wide selection of products.

  • What's the niche for? Adsense or Amazon?

If adsense you can make a review of the product. This means buying it, making sure you think its helpful, then presenting it to your list.

Another method is to carry on delivering lessons, guides and tips to your list. In sections of your email add a small sentence detailing that you know of this course that can help them blabla. Possibly could add that at the end. If your info is really that good, and it makes them want more - There is no reason why they shouldn't click your links.

If Amazon, you either have to be on the lookout for better deals, coupons, vouchers, new products in the same niche and so forth.

You should hammer them most on important holidays when they are already in a 'buying mood'.

Hey jason, my niche is not adsense or Amazon. Sorry, must be misunderstanding. Adsense and amazon are what I make a passive income with, now I am turning my efforts into list building for a niche in the weight loss market.

Great pointers in there though, thanks buddy.

        Ah, ok

In which case my pointers still apply to your situation

Saying that, you should still be adding opt-in forms on your Amazon and adsense sites. The more the better

Chris Guthrie does it for his Amazon sites and then waits for important holidays to promote to his list heavily.

For example, nearing holidays Amazon start releasing great deals. At this point it doesn't matter if the consumer buys the product you promote or not. They will usually end up buying anything during this period - Just get them on to Amazon The rest will work itself out.

mmmm. So what could I do to get visitors to leave there name an email for such sites? I get the mechanics of it, just, how would I encourage them to leave there soul ;-) Being product based I imagine you have to approach it completely diff?

Usually you can suck them in with coupons, discounts and so forth.. and unless you contact the merchants for some codes they are usually hard to get. This type of incentive is usually great for getting people opted in.

The other way of doing it, is to simply state that if they opt in they will receive updates on new products, lowered prices, coupons and discounts in the future etc.

Maybe even a guide that relates to the product in some way. Some people just promote a Free Buyers Guide eBook for opting in.

This usually helps, but it depends on the niche. Those are 3 things you can do when creating your opt-in.

Wow. Just when I had thought I had mastered adsense and amazon I come across your post that can help me further leverage my existing business. Will certainly be putting this into practice. Many thanks.

Are there any example sites out there that I can take a peep at that work like this?

Now I have 2 problems to deal with, my list, and creating list with my current sites lol

  • If you can find some of Chris Guthries Amazon sites you may be able to see an example. People are usually very secretive of their sites. Rightly so though

I've read examples, and seen results. Something I'm trying to achieve with Amazon. Just have an opt-in form above the fold. Choose one of 3 methods or create your own incentive for getting them to opt-in.

One thing I forgot to mention, if they opted in they might not have been looking to buy the product just yet, and it may be good to either hit them up with a response about the product straight away, or in a few days time asking them how it went etc, and if they didn't get it then they can get it from 'This Link'. Even better if you happen to find it cheaper or discounted somewhere and you send it to them.

Might also be good to add some opt-in forms at the end of your reviews. So you have different lists per product. Would be embarrassing to E-mail someone back asking them if they liked a certain product when they visited a different page on your site. Having it above the fold in the sidebar you wouldn't be able to control what product page they came from.

So it may be good to send general questions for those opt ins.

In the end, you'll have a list with repeat buyers - People who you know use Amazon, and would probably be likely to use it again.

Sorry for creating more work for you I'm looking out for your cash!

-promote once or twice a week softly, you don't want people to unsubscribe(you will have to test this)

      What you do is

Send 3 COOL quality emails to your subscribers and at the end say "for example you are in dating and relationship niche"

"If you liked this email about how to approach a woman, then you can go and check our video course teaching you how to date and be in a relationship with a TOTAL 10, go at http://www.YourSite.com"

      Hey Firstname,

I made a short cool video on my Blog teaching my latest
secrets to approach a total 10 without any anxiety and
      eliminating any fears of rejection!

      404 - Not Found

      hot women

      Talk to you later,
      Your Name

      See How it is?

You sound like a friend to them, and when you say it is a blog post then it is more friendly and they are less resistant as they know a blog is not used for pitching

so in the end of your video or even PDF (but make sure to put it on the blog not in the email, make your emails short and friendly not for pitching) say what I said above --> "If you liked this email about how to approach a woman, then you can go and check our video course teaching you how to date and be in a relationship with a TOTAL 10, go at http://www.YourSite.com"

Then at the fourth email send them to your blog where you say they can TRY your product for a $4.95 and if they liked it, the rest will be billed from their credit cards after 7 days

      Got it?

Be friendly and COOL with them

Provide them with value first, then offer your paid stuff with no pressure

the result will be more conversions, more happy customers, more repeated customers thanks to your list only

Let me know if you need any help

Give them a boatload of AWESOME content. Then, give them some more content.

I mean, these are people that signed up to YOUR list . . .to hear from YOU!

Then, when they love the crap out of you.

Provide them with links to some valuable content that will help them solve some of their problems.

Love your list, man . . .then they will definitely love you back . . .but harder . . .and with their wallets and credit cards and stuff . . .I'll shut up now

Here is what I do with my list.

    Content, Content, Content, Content, Content.....

Get the idea? But It Must be good content that actually helps them...

For example, with your weight loss product, pick a product, say one that focuses on whole foods. Spend 3 to 6 emails educating them on why whole foods are good for them and ways to benefit, etc (sorry, don't know about the niche, so can't give better examples, lol).

But you get the idea. What you can do at the end of each of those emails is say "For more info check out this guide to eating whole foods" so you are selling, but its a very soft sale. Then after several of these high content emails then send one that is a full on sales email for the product (whole food guide, in this case) and then repeat then follow that up with one more reminder and some content then move onto the next product.

By doing it this way your readers will not feel as pressured (people don't like to be "sold") and they will see you as an expert and as a trusted friend so they will keep reading your emails.

Good Luck and Kudos because 3600 subs is a very good start :-)

How often do I promote an offer to my list
I promote an offer every time I send something to my list.

When do I promote an offer to my list
I set up a series and I call them mini courses. So every time an issue is send, a related product (mine or the affiliate's) will go along with it

How do I promote offers to my list
The biggest problem most marketers have is - 'What to Write About?' Well, write about what they sign up for. For example, if they sign up for a list building eBook, then i will have a series of list building mini courses send to them. In it, I will have a list building offers as well....
