How Do I Create A Business Plan?

I have learned so much in my time here at the warrior forum, but there is still one thing that alludes me and that is how to build and implement a viable business plan.

There must be thousands of threads here where someone asks a question about something and is told to stick with one idea, and to create a business plan. But I have not found a thread here that shows how to create and implement a business plan (and yes I have used the search feature on the forum).
I am still learning, and I really don't know what to do (except keep posting and syndicating) after I built my website, got tons of backlinks, and optimize my posts. I know what i want to do a couple hundred posts and thousands of views per week from now, but until I get there, I need some sort of plan.

So how do I create a business plan?

Better yet, how do YOU create a business plan?

Theres tons of templates to start. You want to clearly identify the who, what, when, where, why, how and include your 4 p's -- product, place, promotion, price.

The biggest challenge imho is the initial idea. Bringing proof to concept can cost hundreds of thousands alone.

Do a google search, you'll find a lot of templates.

      Here's a business plan worksheet from Inc.com :

The One Day Business Plan Worksheet

It's a pdf you can print off. This makes the process very simple.

      I hope this helps.

I was just looking into this a few hours ago.
I found some samples at: Business Plan Templates and Free Sample Business Plans - Bplans.com — Bplans.com
You can choose the business which is most similar to yours and then purchase that plan for $4.95 and edit it to suit your needs.
However, I'm not sure if there are any Internet marketing business plans.

If you want to actually learn how to write one, instead of using a template, look for the SBA in your area. Usually universities will have SBA events where they will show you how to write a biz plan, what type of biz is right for you (llc, co., etc)

I just wanted to add an idea-concept about building your business plan. Many, if not most online marketers are operating on a business plan but never take the time to create a mind map for it. This is a good place to start. I have used OpenOffice.org business templates and FreeMind mapping software, both of which are OpenSource freeware. You can find the link to download both, here: Free Business Planning Software - Write a Free Business Plan with Freemind and Open Office.

An online business plan can be as simple as Defining what your financial goals are for the coming 12 months. How much do you plan to earn? What are your personal goals? How will you spend the money? Then break down your major financial goal into monthly, weekly and daily steps to get there. These smaller steps become Your Action Plan. But like anything else we plan to do, an action plan does not function by itself. It is interactive. You must consistently act upon these steps, modifying them only when you determine they don't work in their present definition.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks, this helps. I was looking for something like this. I think that many noobies and people who are still becoming accustomed to internet marketing are not looking to write a full fledged business plan, quite yet. For me at least, I hope to turn my websites into a business eventually, but right now they're not even close. Currently I am looking for a business plan for just one website, not a whole company. I also have college to attend, and friends, both of which kind of limits how much time I can put into my business. I know that if I were to start spending all of my time and money on my website that business plan would go in a whole other direction than the one I want to create now. So instead of business templates, I am looking to just create a simple business plan that I can follow more clearly than the one I have in my mind, which tends to change often.

Could you expand on this a little bit? How does it become "interactive"? How would an action plan be set up? Is there a specific way to set one up?

My business model (six-figure business model and beyond) consists of 3 parts. 1) a high ticket income (high ticket products/opportunities where you pocket $1,000+ and I only promote 1 at the moment), 2) affiliate income, 3) recurring income. In order to achieve atleast $4k from each aspect (aka $12k per month) you'll need to become a lead generation expert and learn to effectively market online, and build your list. Understand how to generate traffic in one marketing aspect, master it, then move on to another, all of these aspect driving your traffic to a lead capture page or your home page where you have an opt-in list. Make sure you offer something of extreme value for their name and email (or just email). Build your freakin list like a monster, and have your autoresponder set up properly so you continue to reach out to your list consistently.

Does that answer your question theory5?

    Take care,

I do offline consulting but I am actually buying another offline business. In buying this new business I had to write a business plan in order to get a loan to buy the business.

Well.....I cam across a lady that does really detailed business plans for cheap. I actually used her and ended up with a really great business plan. She has different levels of pricing (all inexpensive) but the one I got was only $199! She basically gives you a fairly detailed questionnaire, which is sort of a basic business plan template, then you send it to her and she does all of the research and adds graphs and puts it all together.

Basically this is the best way to go because you as the owner must write at least the narrative part of the plan so you are forced to think through the issues.

I am actually redoing her web marketing strategy and website, which is currently really bad. However, if you want to use her, pm me and I will hook you up!

      Best,
      Mike
