Best way to place and word Hostgator affiliate link?

I am creating some pages where I plan on putting Hostgator affiliate links but am wondering what the best placement, type, and wording for such links should be.

I am especially interested in input from those who have been successful in affiliate marketing and can speak from experience not just theory.

The following are some of the lines I have thought of when placing a text affiliate link on a page. The brackets indicate a link where the anchor text is what is between the brackets. Z is the software product I am promoting and writing documentation for.

1. [Hostgator] is a great web hosting company for your Z site.

2. Get your first month of Z hosting for only one penny when signing up at [Hostgator] through this site.

3. [Click here] to sign up for Z hosting at Hostgator. Your first month is only one penny!

You get the idea.

I am trying to come up with the best wording.

Also am wondering about putting the text wording in a floated box to the right of the rest of the text on the page or whether it is better to work it into the text naturally?

Anybody got any ideas from their experience that they might care to share?

Thanks.

Carlos

    How about this one:

"Unlimited Webhosting: $1 for the First Month"

That's a good one Adie but it sounds...well...rather internet marketing if you ask me. Might scare some people off.

I mean I don't know since I have never done this before but off the top that is how it seems to me.

Kinda like saying "Have I got a deal for you!". People tend to run the other way when they hear anything that sounds markety I think.

^^ That could work. Unless it's false advertisement.. or people won't believe you and thus won't click.

Sign up for Z Hosting for an Offer of $0.01 for your First Month!
Then hyperlink whatever word you choose. Either the whole thing, or sign up, or anything else.

Feel good about throwing out old clothes because you know there’ll be a new one waiting for you at the door.

I guess I've always wondered whether most people would intuitively figure out that you are supposed to click on the word "Hosting" or "Sign up" or whatever as a link to get there.

I mean the clearest instruction would be to have something like...

[Click here] to get your first month for one penny at Hostgator.

Where a person is instructed to click here.

I think you should put the link in DigitalPoint and other highly populated sites as well and make good reviews / threads as well and then people will notice your link.
