How to 'Actually' make money online???

Hey guys. I've been trying to make money online for the 2 years and believe it or not, I haven't made a single dime. I have invested in countless products but I just don't seem to get anywhere with this online making money stuff.

I guess what I'm looking for is the truth. Are people really making money online? And if so HOW? What product or service are they using? And please do keep in mind, I'm talking as a complete beginner who hasn't made any money so far but does have the knowledge.

Help Please??? Im really frustrated.

There are many ways to make money online. The problem you should have is which one to choose. Do not limit your online experience to just affiliate marketing. Look for ways to provide value in exchange for payment. The internet is just a tool to market something so use it as such.

Very true but I would suggest to focus on one thing very well first before moving on to the next project. There are many opportunities in making money online.

It looks like the OP has been jumping from method to method over the past 2 years and is pretty distracted to this day, it is incomprehensible that he wasn't able to make a single dime over this period of time otherwise.

It's time for the OP to wake up and smell the roses - as you've mentioned, focus on one method until he sees results, and then scale it up before moving on to the next. Two years isn't exactly a short timeframe, and it's definitely time now for him to quit playing around and to get focused on IM.

If you bought a domain name and hosting and put up a simple Wordpress blog. Then on this blog you wrote articles about beef jerky. You put links to a online store selling beef jerky into your posts. You had some Google Ads running. Finally, a link to Amazon and the beef jerky products they sell.

Every day you write an article about beef jerky, beef jerky recipes, different ways of eating and creating jerky - anything to do with beef jerky.

You also write articles about beef jerky and post them to article directory.

You find forums where they discuss beef jerky and you become a member making your own knowledgeable and entertaining posts.

You find blogs that mention beef jerky and you make clever and intelligent posts.

You make videos about beef jerky and post them on youtube

Finally, you have a list which fills with people interested in beef jerky and you mail them every time something new and wonderful happens in the beef jerky community.

Just doing this and only this, you would be making about $100 a month. But then, beef jerky is probably a difficult niche.

My point is, that you can pretty much make money with anything if you do the steps outlined above.

I'm absolutely agree. You should choose one niche and your choice should be based what you love doing. Don't choose what you dislike only to make more money you'll waste your time. You should find what you really love to do.
Do not despair and continue to work. Listen to your heart.

There are a lot of ways to make money online, and you may have tried everything, but never stick with one. That may be the reason why you haven't achieved success.

But don't get discouraged, you still have enough time to achieve your goals, 5 or even 6 figures a month. My only advice is to find one strategy and stick with it until you see success before moving to other.

I've been in IM for 6 months now and really learned a lot.

With your 2 years experience you should definetely have alot of knowledge to share.

Why don't you try building a digital product and sell it as a WSO?

Like all other post on this thread.

I urge you to start FOCUSING on a system and stick to it.

Even if it does not work in the beginning don't give up, it MUST & WILL work in the long run.

Focus is the key to success in any field.

    Hi Saif,

My advice to you would be to find an IM niche that you are passionate about that excites and drives you. Once you have found this niche, study it throughly, implement and test it and come up with your own product that you can showcase your results.

Don't worry about the $$ first because that is secondary. Find your passion first.

Over the years, I have found that these 3 elements play a pivotal role in your IM success.

Good quality content + Demand + Traffic = $$ making product

The best content comes from within you and from your passion. Look deep enough and you are bound to find it.

    Cheers!

    1. Find a good writer
    2. Ask what niche they enjoy writing for, that they make the most money in.
    3. Buy as many articles as you can afford.
    4. Build a website around these articles
    5. Put about 20 on the website and add at least one each day.
    6. Submit the articles to directories like ezine
    7. Keep adding articles to site and article directories
    8. Join forums in that niche, leave blog comments on blogs in the niche, answer questions about this niche on places like yahoo answers.
    9. Build a list
    10. keep abreast of your niche and email details on new products, events, etc to your list. Think minimum of one a week.

This, at the least, will make you money. You've got to do A LOT more to make a LOT MORE money.

Here's a simple and easy plan. But by no means I'm an expert at it. But it works.

    1. Get a domain and hosting.
    2. Go to Fiverr,com/Warrior for hire and order an autoblog on a niche that fascinates you
    3. Then buy another fiverr or warrior for hire for SEO backlinking.
    4. Put up some clickbank-related ads, as well as adsense.
    5. Monitor your SERP and get it to page 1 on google
    6. Tweak to improve as you go.
    7. Do more blogs.

P.S. You can put original articles on the blog if you want or become an active blogger.

    Hope this helps.

And yes, I make some money online from my consulting biz and affiliate ads.

If you are inspired by leading IM's, then you might eventually make a good living. You will be facing a brutal amount of competition, however there is a great amount of opportunities.

If you are inspired by the types of people who create successful companies, (ie. Paypal, Google, Facebook, Twitter, eBay, Yahoo!), then you will still be facing a brutal amount of competition, with an upside that can literally be over a Billion Dollars.

Create Squidoo lenses for free, and make money with royalties at least. You can also sell many Amazon, eBay, Clickbank products and more through your lenses.

    http://www.squidoo.com/passive-income-website-traffic-squidoo-beginners-guide

You have to create many quality lenses and respect Squidoo’s rules, but this is a sure way to make money online, without spending any money. You’ll only have to work hard creating 100s of quality lenses. It’s not so hard. I created only 18 up to the moment because I have another business, etc, but many people are making around $1000 - $2000 per month with their lenses. I may create more lenses when I’ll have enough time. It’s a good idea; you create a passive income this way.

Not necessarily. Not if the product sucks.
I'm an affiliate marketer and all I do is learn how to market (this is internet MARKETING after all) focusing on one skill and one thing at a time without having to set up my sales video, sales letter, creating my own e-mails in my autoresponder, without creating my own products or set up my own website or any of that stuff that takes years to do.

Oh, and I get to keep all the profits too.

Here is what you should do:

    1. Find someone that you respect in your market. (I love internet marketing niche and it is probably the best and most profitable market online)

    2. Try to get them as a mentor.

    3. Implement everything what they advice you to do.

    4. Think like that: "what he would if he was me?"

If you can't afford to get a mentor now, get a product from them AND BEFORE YOU BUY THAT, TELL TO YOURSELF THAT YOU WILL IMPLEMENT THAT NO MATTER WHAT. I started making money when I applyed that

If you don't know who to follow then, I can advice you to follow Lee McIntyre (I am a big fan of him!)

This isn't all IM stuff, but I thought I'd give you a list of places to get you started:

1.) https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome - Amazon MTurk is pretty easy to use. There are a few keys to making money with it. You can either go for higher paying tasks or you can find an easy task where there's multiple assignments per person and just do that repetitively. I made $30 in one day by doing the same task over and over again. The task took me about 20 seconds to perform and it paid $0.10. Not a lot of money, but it can add up and it's ridiculously easy to make. I wouldn't recommend doing it full time, as it's very likely that you'll make any substantial income, but it's great in a pinch.

2.) Unique content - Textbroker.com - If you like to write but don't feel like having to find your own clients then TextBroker is a great place to start making money writing. You can accept the writing assignments that you want and you know exactly how much you'll be paid before you start an assignment. It's pretty easy money if you know how to write quickly.

3.) Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com - You can write about what you want at Associated Content and they'll pay you for your articles as long as they meet the Associated Content guidelines. I don't think it's anywhere near as profitable as TextBroker, but it was still worth throwing out there.

4.) eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices - If you don't have money to invest in inventory, then you can always get up on Craigslist to see what people are giving away for free. You could sell lots of clothing or other things on Ebay to make some money. I also hear that using public domain stuff to create CDs is profitable, but I haven't had much luck with it.

5.) Craigslist - Again, you could look for free stuff on Craiglist, bring it home, clean it up, and sell it to other people on Craigslist.

6.) Amazon - I personally prefer selling things on Amazon over Ebay, but you have to be selling something that is already in Amazon's system to avoid having to pay for the ability to add pictures.

7.) Offering Services - Is there anything that you're good at? Article writing, social bookmarking, directory submission, ect.? There are several places online that you can offer your services to individuals and businesses that need them. A few places that you can offer them at are Ebay, Fiverr, and Warriors For Hire

8.) Blogging - Blogging takes a bit of time to get up and going, but once you get your blog rolling it can be a great income earner. I have two blogs that make between $1 - $5 per day. Not a whole lot, but it certainly gives a boost to the rest of my online income. You can monetize blogs with just about anything to make them profitable.

9.) Amazon Review Sites - This is another way that I make a pretty big chunk of my online income. Go to the Amazon best sellers list, pick a few top selling products in the same niche and build a review site around them. The most important part to this method is learning how to do proper keyword and competition research. Once you get that down it's pretty much easy money.

10.) Affiliate Marketing - Go to Clickbank and pick out a product that has a convincing sales page. I'd get into the whole gravity thing, but everyone has a different criteria for picking out Clickbank products. I'll just say for now, don't promote anything with over 100 gravity. I don't promote any products that have opt in forms on their sales page or make false 'limited time' threats. Most importantly though, the sales page needs to convince you to buy. To minimize chance of failure, I recommend picking a product that is either something that people need or something that people are passionate about. I hear that gaming guides sell really well, just an example. Do keyword and competition research (again, vital to making this work), then create a 20 page website around 20 different keywords and place only ads to your Clickbank products on the pages. I make about $150 a month per website using this method. Of course, it's a bit more detailed than that, but for the sake of brevity I'll leave it at that.

    I hope this has helped.

    Hi,

    Don't worry.

All successful Internet Marketers were once on your spot.

I think that You're information overloaded from what you wrote.

i suggest you take some time out from IM first.

Find a good place to think it all over again about your goal on IM.
What's your really desire about it?

Then from your 2 years experiences, i'm quite sure you have read or tried mant products out there.

And i'm sure if you think it deeply, you must have a kind of glance about what you think really be comfortable with.

Because, as you know, There's a lot ways to make money online legally. And you can't do them all.

You must find one of it which you think it's most comfortable with your own style.--> this you should find by your self.

When you've found it, it's already half-way. All you have to do is DO It! consistently & focus, until you reach your first dollars.

When you reach your first dollars, I'm sure your confidence will be sky-rocketing.

Let us know when you've got your first one Friend.

    Hope this help.

    To Your Success,

    -Lemy

I was in your shoes for years I never made any money its very frustrating indeed I know how you feel man, one option though is maybe consider taking some sort of course/mentoring in IM this is the path I took and it helped me immensely and I realised that all the years before I was trying to make money I was wasting my time and I would never have made any money simply because I didnt have the knowlege of how IM works.

Of course if you only want to make a bit of money here and there then its probably not worth investing in a course like this but if your aim is to do IM as a job replacement or make a large amount of money then IMO its a good investment to make.

Good to hear that you have the knowledge. No offense but I'm wondering do you have the right knowledge or you think you have the knowledge but you are actually the kind of person that "don't know what they don't know".

I have 3 words for you.

    GET CRAP DONE.

I've started dozens of projects that never were completed.

If they had been, I would probably be doing much better than I am now.

How many projects have you abandoned? How early did you abandon them?

So critical! Well said Justin. I am working on a project right now and it is so hard not to drift away to kinda-sorta start another project that popped into my brain randomly. I took the day off today, back to work tomorrow!

This is basically the entire process of what people are selling out there as courses how to make money online. You sir, just made my day, lol.

can you answer the following questions...

    1. What actions have you taken based on your knowledge to build your online business?

    2. Do you have a website, blog, squeeze pages, products, etc? If yes, have you tracked the conversion rate for each of them.

    3. Have you tried any traffic sources to sell your products? If yes, have you tracked what kind of response you're receiving from each of them.

Kindly answer the questions and PM me so i can have a look and give you response...

I personally feel that the only reason you have not made any money is that you have kept purchasing products, gained all the knowledge on earth but have not taken any action. And if you have taken any action you have not tested as to what worked for you and have not taken any concrete decisions based on your testing to move ahead with your online business... Am I right??

This thread is almost 2 years old, and the OP hasn't posted since February, people. I'm pretty sure he's moved on to the next thing by now, so asking him questions is pointless.

There is no one main special way to make money online, but I like to focus on driving traffic, building a list, and then promoting products to that list. Products that have backend commissions for as high as possible lifetime customer value.

Sounds like you have already invested in lots of training so is time to just focus on using that training to do actual marketing related tasks that drives traffic to a squeeze page to build a list rather than tasks that are just research and learning based that don't directly get leads and make money.

Yes you gotta find something that interest you relating to your talents. I love website design, so I find thing relating to building websites. What if you like writing? Find places can can pay you to write. Make a good google search on what topics interest you the most concerning a business opportunity and do a extensive research on scam.com, warriorforum.com, ripoffreport.com to make sure the business is legit. Hope this helps.

If you tried and tried to make money online but you never made a dime, it may be a problem in the way you look to the business.

If you say that you spent your money on info products that should have teached you how to do money online means that you already got the process wrong. Those info products gives you incomplete information about the IM business, or they expose a strategy that only work if you "invest 15 hours a day into this", "you already have a good selling product", "you are in a certain niche", "you use a tool that costs $1000", etc.

More, if you think about it backwards, then it is unlikely that you make money, or you make some bucks but the effort of doing it is not encouraging for the results you get. Here is an example. You try affiliate marketing, a lot of info products tells you to find a high converting product and over promote it everywhere you can, youtube, blogs, forums, squidoo, facebook, twitter, etc. Even if you end up making few sales, when you stop promoting it the money will stop and you are asking if the effort worth it. You may read numerous books that say: "facebook is the best way to make affiliate sales", "How I made $$$$$ trough twitter", "How I made $$$$$ trough email marketing", what they don't say to you is that they spent years building that facebook account or page that empowered them to earn so much money, that they spend 7 years to biuld high converting email marketing lists, or that they have xxxxxx followers on their youtube channel because they invested 3 years in posting popular videos there.

The right way is to build something: an online tool, a blog, a facebook blog, an youtube channel, a squidoo blog. Very important, it has to be something that you are interested it, even it is a tool. The tool should save a problem, but if you don't experience that problem it will be hard to fix it. The blog should have a topic, but if you go for a "popular" topic instead a topic you have knowledge in it then you may fail. You must to commit to what you promote, and it will grow.

It may take up to 3 days to get your first 100 visitors a day, it may take up to 3 months. Don't get discouraged, different topics and different venues take up different amount of time to attract visitors. Stop reading those info products, they will tell you that traffic should come suddenly, and are aimed to discourage you. The traffic can come instantly, but with other factors. The one who sells you the info product already have a lot of other websites and email lists, so launching a new product or blog and advertising it on other websites and email lists will get it to 1000 visitors a day from the very start, but this can't happen without help.

As the website ( or youtube channel, or facebook page ) grows, monetization opportunities arive. No one will pay you to place a link on your 1-day blog. Give it some time and the results will come.

I was just like you five years ago when i was started . I didnt make any money but I realized that making money online is depends on two things .

1 . Traffic :you have to learn how to generate targeted trafic, both free and paid traffic.
2 . Conversion : you need to know how to convert this traffic to a sell, that puts money in your pocket.

Currently I'm making money with a system that converts really well and also teaches how to generate targeted traffic. You can check out my System If you want to know more about this. (Clue check my signature)

Love it when a thread like this gets revived!

My 2 cents would be stop SPENDING money online. Spending money online does not directly translate into MAKING money online, although many people follow the "spend money to make money" way, they often wonder why the "making money" part doesn't come.
