Help with Aweber - changing the physical address on emails

Hi there,

I have just set up an aweber account and am testing my forms at the moment, but have noticed that my physical address appears on the bottom of the emails that are being sent out.

I have gone into account settings and changed the address here, to somewhere that isn't my house!!! but it is not changing this on the emails. Can anyone help? I don't want people knowing my home address.

Many thanks in advance.

Before you go changing this I should let you know that it is an offense to use a fake address. Spam legislation requires you have a valid physical address at the bottom of each commercial message being sent out.

If you don't want people knowing where you live then it might be time to get a PO Box.

Having said that, to change the address simply select the list you are wanting to edit from the drop down box at the top, then click on 'My Lists' > 'List Settings'. At the bottom of the 'Basic Information' box you will see your current address and next to it says 'edit'. You can edit your address there.

      Hey Will,

Do you know how to change all the lists addresses at once? I've been trying to figure this one out, because you have to change it on a per list basis.

I'm pretty sure it's on a per list basis, that's how I've always done it. It would be good though if it were a global field.

That's what I was thinking... Especially when you have a ton of lists to go through, as I will have to... Been thinking about getting a PO Box on the ASAP.

Yeah I got a PO Box a fair while ago, it's a much better way of doing things even for the offline world. I have been through a few moves over the last few years and it's been nice not having to change all my addresses with everyone who I ever get mail from. Most places will accept a PO Box as a mailing address these days so it makes things a lot easier.

Here's a link to an AWeber tutorial on how to change
your physical mailing address within their system:

How Do I Change My Contact Information? :: AWeber Knowledge Base (no affil.)

Note that you need to insert a physical address where
you can actually receive your post from.

Obviously, DON'T enter a fake address.

      Thanks WillR,

That's great. I have another address which is not my home, but can receive post at, so I am able to use that.

      Thank again

When people trust you with their emails, it is only acceptable that you also disclose your identity.
