Facebook Fans and Likes?

If someone presses the fb likes button do they become a fan? I am reading that the like button has now replaced the fan button? Is this true?

Want to buy fans on fiverr and seeing alot of (will get your likes/fans)

    First, be careful with the offers on Fiverr. Lots of them are scam artists hoping you're not very sophisticated. Second, as far as I know, it's still like for both, but the thing is that if they click like on a message rather than on the page, then the like goes to the message, not the page (I had that happen with a couple of friends who tried to like my page and then simply liked the message I had posted on my wall asking for likes on my page.

    FB fan like button instantly takes the person to your fan page...You can as well get reliable people on fiverr but you must have to be very careful when buy Gig on fiverr.

    ya don't buy a fiverr gig. Not worth it as the fans simply aren't targeted and it will be tough to develop a relationship with them. Also, it's best to have a page that offers something for a visitor that clicks the "like" button!!

    I haven't had good experience with Fiverr either. Untargeted likes are not even worth it.

    Yeah as soon as someone clicks like they become a fan. An interesting point is how you provide a call to action to make people become a fan . A lot of people use static fbml pages and provide arrows asking people to click like.

    Many companies look at securing a Facebook fan as a longer term catchment .

      I'm glad this is being discussed as I recently got on facebook.

      Question: When I try to send out recommendations on the "invite your friends" tab, and I put someone's name in there, it won't let me send them - I click on the "send recommendations" link but it doesn't do anything.

      Am I doing something wrong?

      Also - anyone know of a good up-to-date video that will explain all this? The ones I"ve seen haven't updated their info since fb updated to a "like" page.
