There's so much stuff out there and I know every one of them work and that's what sucks!

Hey Warriors,

I just recently checked the expiration dates at one of the membership sites I joined and it said 12-02-09. And I remember that was the exact same month I had started taking Internet Marketing seriously.

But now I realize that I was at the exact same place that I had started! All I had gained was a truckload of information of no real use until put to action... It kills me that I didn't do anything for the last 10 months except for reading stuff and of course collecting them.

And I still, while I'm writing this post, don't know what to do! Everything I ever tried to learn was left incomplete just because I found something better, that was either easier to implement or guaranteed better results.

I decided to take the full video course by Ryan Moran but let it go after the first week and then I decided to try Bum Marketing but gave in as soon as the writing part came... I've tried and left a ton of things before... Still nothing moves!

I know - I can make it big. I know - I know more than 85% of the folks out there on many topics of Internet Marketing. But, I don't know what exactly to do! Do I take up Bum Marketing, Opt-In List Building, Niche Marketing or what, what, what?

Any Help?

Cheers,
Sumit.

You need to choose ONE thing and stick with it until the point where you can say it was a failure or a success.

Choose the one business model that you feel has the most potential, or that you are most excited about.

Get a vision for your business. Your vision must be compelling enough to motivate you to get through the hard parts of building the business!

Set goals as milestones along the way to your vision. Write down your vision and your goals.

Draft a simple business plan designed to meet those goals.

    Stick to your plan!

When you get to a hard part and feel like giving up, take a look at your vision and your goals. Again, it must be strong enough to motivate yourself to continue.

Succeed or fail as fast as possible, and then start the process again.

So you mean to say, if I choose Bum Marketing then stick only to Bum Marketing and forget about everything else?

What eholmlund said is SOOO true. I have been where you are! The only way to succeed is to chose ONE business model and stick with it until you see results. So many times we change directions right before a major breakthrough.

Hey Kelly, nice diagram! So very true and I kinda laughed when I saw one poster say "I still don't get it" ... LOL

      Sumit;

First go have a look at Kelly's diagram (link above)

Stay focused on one project. Focus all your energy into that one project. Create a detailed plan for that project. Get away from the forums, stay out of your email inbox and just get things done!

Projects need speed to be effective. Half the reason is so you won't end up talking yourself out of it when it becomes a bit challenging or you think you see something easier/better.

I have 3 computers and one with dual monitors and they are all focused on the same project. I go into warp speed when I get an idea and get things done.... that's how you gain momentum and make the kind of money you want to be making.

Personally, I still write out my weeks tasks (in detail) and even have a plan for each day of exactly what I;m doing and were I'm doing it. I even have time estimates...

      Why?

Well because soon I will be outsourcing that stuff and I'll have the exact plans to give them to do it how I want it done and I know about how long it takes so I can get full value for the money I pay them.

Also, without those plans of action I would definitely miss something because my brain is going a hundred miles an hour with all kinds of profitable ideas...

      "Focus"

      Mike Hill

I spent 6 months during the last year flying to the homes of the world's greatest internet marketers. I spent the day with them filmed their story, tips, tricks everything. You can access a portion of each video at http://www.legenarymarketers.com

Bu the real trick is what Eric mentioned and that is to pick just one thing. When I filmed Anik Singal he said the same thing. Pick just one thing (affiliate marketing, list building, mini-site creation) what ever it is and just do it. master it and then go on to the next. Brad Fallon said the same thing. You need to know the basics, master them and focus on making the first dollar, then the first hundred, thousand and so on. Rick Raddatz gave great advice that is if you want to learn affiliate marketing go get a job with as an affiliate manager. But the overall key is to just do it. Massive action is a necessity.

Thanks guys, I'll try and stick to one thing.

And do you think planning my day would be helpful? I spent too much of my time hmmm.... hmm... playing games. And if you do any (free) software you think could help? I mean, I don't want a fancy multi-media application that would remind me when to pee. But, something that would just show a lil pop up or reminder when it's time.

This is going to sound brutal but if you need to ask if you should plan your day you are not even close to the right frame of mind! And you're playing games!
First thing you gotta do is make the decision to build a business! Ugly fact - that means you gotta work!! Play games later.
Buying stuff doesn't get you a business, doing something does!
Follow all the advice above but first slap yourself around the head a couple of times!

I was overwhelmed when I started too. I started with one idea, tried it, became proficient at it and then tried the next idea. I guess you win the race by taking one step at a time! You just need to take the steps.

    Take up BUSINESS building.

What you just listed are tactics, or sub-components of the former. You need productS (emphasis on the S) and a mapped-out sales funnel - whether they're your own or someone else's. Then you need a lead generation system... that's where bum marketing, list building and all other forms of promotion come in.

find something you enjoy....if you arent good at writing or dont enjoy doing so then bum marketing may not be for you. Master one area and then move into other areas

My feeling is your desire to make it online is not strong enough. Water will not boil if it's not at 100 degree Celsius. If you are 99% into it, you will never make it.

Stop your games and start working. You can focus on 2 things at one time. It just depends on your time.

One more suggestion: Focus on building a business, not making money. For example, if you are using Bum Marketing to make money directly from selling affiliate product, you may lose steam soon. But if you focus on building a website, say adsense website, you will see your business grow stronger and stronger every day.

    Hey Sumit,

What are your strengths? What would be more fun (not like work) to you?

You mentioned Bum Marketing...Do you like to write?

What do you LIKE to do? What are you good at?

I know you are only 15 yrs old and probably have no idea "what you want to do when you grow up". (I know I didn't at your age).

You could always make good money being a "Middle-Man". Help people with a problem, find the answer. That could manifest itself in many forms...

You could do Affiliate Marketing, or, research answers to a problem and make an info product on it. (then sell it as a WSO).

You could actually do research for marketers, such as Keyword Research, Niche Markets, etc... and sell that info. Many Warriors, right here, would pay you to do that leg work for them.

You could do a WSO where you hire your services out. Your customers will tell you what they want you to research (New Niche Markets, 500 Longtail KeyWords for those markets, stats on how many sites are competing for those markets, research on what the compitition is doing/using to generate business, etc...) This stuff most IMers hate to do, and would pay you good money to hand them that info.

During the "Gold Rush" in America, the people who made the real money weren't the miners. The real winners were the people selling the picks & shovels! The ones supplying the tools for others to use. (Levi jeans got their start with the gold miners...[you may have heard of them] Look where they are now!)

You get enough orders for that WSO and you will be able to afford some software that will make the job push-button easy.

...Is this triggering any ideas in your head? Are your greed glands pumping, yet?

The world is your oyster, buddy! Crack that shell wide open, eat your fill and stuff the pearl in your pocket!

Let me know what appeals to you. What you would enjoy doing, and I'll help you further.

    You can do it, buddy!

    Here's my suggestion to you:

Take up Optin-List Building and stick with it.
    Take consistent ACTION.

    Good Luck!

I just re-read your first post you said 'the exact same month I had started taking Internet Marketing seriously'.
    You were joking, right?
Sorry, but you haven't started to take it seriously. That's the first thing you need to do!

Like others have said Sumit, become Master of one trade rather than a jack of all.

Making it big in Internet Marketing takes dedication, time and patience. If you have the grasshopper mentality that you will try something half heartedly and quickly jump onto something else because you think it won't work, then nothing will work for you.

Learn the basics, make a start, turn a profit, reinvest the profit onto advanced courses and your business, and then you'll become a Master of your trade. :-)
