How to handle payment contracts online?

Paypal subscriptions are canceled in a breeze.

Credit card payments are charged back.

Fund sources are withdrawn.

This is a bit of a sticky issue, with no apparent solution. For those of you offering monthly IM services (e.g. SEO services), how do you handle contracts? Since the buyer is under contract to pay, say, once a month for 6 months, how do you prevent the buyer from canceling their online payment profile?

Do you find this is a common problem, and if not, am I safe just using regular old Paypal subscriptions for my contractual payments?

    quick tip,

you shouldn't give anyone a reason to cancel, the product/service should be awesome.

Yes, but it may not be awesome until a few weeks after work has begun on the project, and that's more than enough time for customers to cancel their payments.
