Weight Loss/Diet products on Clickbank

Here the good news:
My weight loss site is now officially the site with the highest traffic.

The bad news:
They just disabled my Adsense discount (reason unclear), filed appeal etc. and waiting for their reply.

The problem is, as opposed to some other niches, the weight loss products on CB dont seem to sell at all!

I don't think i sold one single weight-loss product/course from clickbank, ever!

Right now i have banners/text ads for all three major clickbank weight loss products on the site (diet solution program, FBF, fat loss 4 idiots, truth about six pack abs).

While i am selling health remedies fine on other sites with LESS traffic i don't sell squat in regards to weight loss! I am a little bit at a loss. The design and ad placement is almost the same, so i am puzzled!

I already got advice from alexa which showed me some good ones on clickbank which she considered "good vendors"..but no sales yet.

Any idea?
#clickbank #loss or diet #products #weight

    Hello George,

Several ideas are product saturation which does exist. But I'm not sure
what the cycles would be on the net even though they would vary for
    different products and markets.

Next, possible banner blindness since you have banners on your sites. I
would look at your pages with the most traffic and run tests. You can
try adding in-line links directly to the sales copy. Then perhaps test
different locations for those links. In the middle, toward the bottom, etc.
If you do this, remove the banners on those pages.

Since you have banners, I am guessing you do not have any reviews of
those products on your site? If not, then try that approach. Ideally, get
the product and do very in-depth reviews like about 1000 words.

Lastly, hopefully your keywords for which you are ranking are buying keywords.
If you rank for non-buying, then people just want some info and that's it.

If you're ranked for non-buyng kw's, then that would suggest getting optins
and email marketing in addition to definitely putting up some good reviews.

    Hope that helps.

Well i have a mix of banners, "text ads" which go to clickbank...and i do have reviews. You are right with your buying keywords because "lose weight" might not be really a buying keyword as opposed to, say, "acne treatment".

But then i figured that this "niche" is a hungry niche (oh my god, excuse my pun)...i mean if i look for "lose weight" or "diet tips" this indicates there is a DEMAND and a problem..so while there might not be that high a conversion rate i can expect to at least sell something once in a while?

Georg, I've got pretty amazing domain names in this space. If you can think of a way to work together, PM me. Thanks.

I've had a similar problem with weight loss products online but I have found they sell great if you use offline ads in the right places.

    Here my tip:

    1) Ask the site owner if you can use their graphic.

    2) Buy a domain with a similar but memorable sounding name. URL forwarding with your affiliate link.

    3) Add your new website address to the graphic and print onto flyers. Get down to your local gym / weight loss centre and get your flyer up and watch the money roll in.

Ken's comments make a lot of sense. I wasn't getting any sales with ClickBank products until fairly recently when I promoted a product that was just coming onto the market, spent much time writing the review and setting up the site, and added a couple of videos about the product and some very good content.

All of a sudden I had a couple of sales within a day or two. I know there were a lot of others promoting this same item, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

This may seem silly ... but how do you find new products being released on the clickbank market? I'm new to clickbank and have been thinking of really promoting a few of their products on my site but I'm hearing that the high gravity/older stuff doesn't convert well.......I too have a weight loss site that is doing fairly well .

I am usually looking at cbengine.com - i will monitor this for a few weeks longer but it seems to be REALLY a saturated market. Otherwise go adsense.

By the way do you want to trade links? PM me

George I just sent you a PM. There is one weight loss product I promote that does reasonably well and pays a nice commission too

"Weight Loss" is not a niche.

    "Weight loss after pregnancy" is.

I advise clients to drill-down within big niches, become the expert at something more specific. And of course, always, always, always, develop your own product. Put a unique spin on it, something never done before, and launch it.

Mike Geary himself recently said that it takes between 120-150 hops to convert a sale on TruthAboutAbs from PPC traffic, even when warming them up with an article-based landing page. Worse, that's considered a "GOOD" conversion ratio for a generic weight loss product!

George you're a veteran, you know what to do. Drill down, find a true niche, develop a quick product for it, and install yourself as the expert.

Oh and PS for the lurkers - Google doesn't seem to have much interest in the major saturated niches lately. I've found it's harder to get ads approved, landing pages approved, text approved, or anything else approved, if they're in the major evergreens for Adwords/Adsense, even with 110% within compliance.

    Just a thought.

Perhaps it is your site or your keywords not having commercial intent.

Some of those WL products you mentioned have good gravity, so someone is selling them!

PM me the domain name if you want me to have a look at the site.

    Hi George

Try Joel Marion's Xtreme Fat Loss Diet.

Sounds really hypey, but Joel's training is good and it's been my best converting weight loss product on CB.

Turbulence Training by Craig Ballantyne is also a good one. If you can, get on his affiliate email list because he always runs time sensitive special offers and has lads of great free content that you can reproduce.

So how do you get traffic to the site(s), for example that "xtreme fat loss diet"?

You get people from google searching for specific diet names or "diet name review"?? I am asking with a view on SEO and keywords. Maybe targeting "lose weight" etc. is simply not specific enough and i would be better off targeting the diet names and reviews?

95% of the traffic I drive to the salespages are from messages to my subscribers.

The other 5% is from people reading articles on my website and then clicking through to the product page. Here's an example:

I may be mistaken about this, but I don't believe it will be possible ever to make sales of any of those products without list-building, Georg. Direct linking will hardly sell at all, especially in that niche. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5210243

Why sell just weight/loss diet products on Clickbank when you can sell not only weight loss/diet products but nutritional supplements, household products, bath and body, cosmetics and pharmacy products all from one company? It covers all the bases so to speak. The company I am talking about isn't a clickbank company however.

It's nearly impossible to compete in such highly entrenched niches without building lists, especially when promoting Clickbank products. Most prospects need multiple exposures before making a decision. Conversions can dramatically increase, often into the high double digits, with an effective email marketing campaign.

I think before opening up any new clickbank product you need to do JV or have your own list or have some constant traffic build into it, if you are good in making product than you need to watch niche affiliate classroom, they are very good at that, making product and make silents sales every month..how cum you have added Google adsense in your sale pages, Google ad sense is very dangerous, never ever click add by mistake, that is very important..if you have done than report google asap..

Why not try the old fashioned way of online marketing? Generate a lead, follow up on them, and make sales. Have you tried this already? If you did, was it successful enough to justify running this campaign over and over again?
