Started A Site... Sort Of Lost Where To Go Next

Hi everyone. Boy, I've lurked here for so long. Thanks for being a great community.

I'm currently working on a niche site that has most (maybe most?) of the content done and links and a little adsense (good mix, bad?) strewn about. I see a few clicks coming in from Google, 1-2 a day. No conversions yet.

I'm wondering where to go next, in addition to hiring someone to help me with marketing (any tips on that would be awesome, too, budget is tight but will grow slightly soon), and how to make my site more profitable. I'm not 100% sure if I can link to my site in this post, so I'm not going to.

Thank you thank you x 53985943.

Pretty early days for your site. If you are monetizing your site through adsense, then just keep adding content. You can also use web 2.0 (twitter, xanga, weebly, hubpages, squidoo) for better exposer and traffic, but with good solid content.

    Thanks

You need to generate traffic. Start building backlinks for your site and try to get a plan. You want to make money with adsense? Is it a blog? You can also make money with affiliate marketing.

It's got affiliate links on it. It's a blog/soft review site, if there's such a thing.

I could give you some tips but my best one is to drive targeted traffic so you can increase your conversions. Work on seo and target some keywords for example ' Blogging To The Bank Review' . Start blog commenting, article marketing and so on by targeting keywords.

In addition to using SEO to drive traffic to your site, don't forget that social media also works well for getting traffic. If you don't already have an autoresponder opt-in form on your website, I'd suggest putting one up on your blog/soft review site so that you have a better chance of converting your visitors into sales.

What Ive found is, if you rush adding a bunch of links on your site, google will frown and might bounce you around a bit, Its better to slowly build CONTENT and then add in the few links here and there, if you rush into it you might get slapped. Google HIGHLY favors Content Drive Websites now then they ever have. A strong foundation will not only improve your score in the eyes of Google, but make a strong impression on your user base.

If your site is new the first step is to get it indexed by the search engines. If you are already getting some traffic then it sounds like it is already indexed. Point a link to your site by using your signature file in this forum.

I wouldn't spend too much time promoting back links to your site like most people are doing. Google is constantly changing their trends to weed out spammers who try to manipulate them with self generated back links to their sites. They are against black hat techniques big time and are PRO organic link building that comes from your visitors sharing your valuable content.

Focus on writing more content that offers genuine value for your visitors not for the money and the money will just be a by product. Write purely for the money and things may take a little longer for you.

Thank you! I create my own content for now, as it's hard for me to trust another with it, but in order for me to grow and grow I'm going to have to outsource some of the writing I suppose... =\ I've updated my signature to include a link. Thank you for checking it out.

It's fine to write your own content initially, especially when you're still new to everything and want to learn the ropes. This is the best way to learn the proper way to do things, so that when you outsource or delegate work outside, you'll at least know whether you're receiving high quality work/services or not, and also be able to dole out precise, actionable instructions - otherwise it'd be like the blind leading the blind.

Thank you! I think I'm at the stage where I need to start exploring my outsourcing options. I am coming into some extra investment money within a few months and would love to have a plan developed by then. I come on to places like WF and immediately become overwhelmed with the sheer number of things one should/can do... yet I want to succeed with this so badly.

You would definitely need to mix SEO with Social Media Marketing. The organic traffic coming to your site should be able to click on Facebook Share, Google Buzz, Yahoo Buzz, Twitter Share, MySpace share and others, which will build natural backlinks to your site and give you tons of traffic too.

    1. Keep adding good content.
    2. Linkbuilding and advertising (advertising deals with site that are compatible).
    3. Share updates and info with others via social networks.
    4. Build an email list for a newsletter and other updates.
    5. Have a footer link for appropriate forums, pointing to your site.

If you want to increase your traffic rank in google or alexa then start from small traffic chunks like twitter, stumbleupon, Seo, backlinking and then some other websites which gives you 300 to 1000 visitors per day in start and i think its a good amount of traffic, i can suggest you the ways how to do it and yes i will creat a thread on "How to Drive Easy and Real traffic to your website" soon on this forum so keep reading..
