Best WP Plugins to use *inside* a membership site

I'm putting together a WP-based membership site and I'm looking for cool community building features I can add. I've already installed the excellent Simple Press message board and now I'm on the lookout for other add-ons that can enhance my members' experience and make the site sticky.

Things like (but not limited to):

* the ability to send private messages to one another
* the ability for members to have publicly-viewable profile pages and/or blogs
* a function that would allow for easy uploading and display of user submitted content
* a way for members to post and share external links

etc. etc.

Anyone have any suggestions?

    How about Google Friend Connect? It's not integrated into your users' login ID but takes about 2 minutes of copy & paste code and is a very nice viral tool for people to invite their Gmail contacts, facebook, etc.

    For true social networking via WP, check out BuddyPress. It's still in beta and will require you to upgrade to WP multi-user but it looks killer.
