Repurposing My Ezinearticles As PLR Packages

Question for everyone:

I have submitted upwards of a thousand articles across a diverse set of niches on Ezinearticles.com for my own article marketing campaigns. Some of these niches are generating a modest passive income for me.

I know that I own the rights to these articles, since these are mine which I wrote for my own self.

I would love to get everyone's take on whether or not it makes sense to take my own articles which I have written for myself, and which are already live on Ezinearticles, and which are already earning me money, and then packaging them up as a PLR package to sell to others.

Has anyone else ever done that?

Are there any disadvantages of doing that? eg) I'm I devaluing my own existing articles out there by having countless others potentially duplicate versions of my PLR content out there on the Internet, but with links to their own landing pages? eg) I'm creating competition for myself?

This begs the broader question:
Does it make any sense, as an article marketer, to simultaneously write articles as backlinks for my own campaigns, AND at the SAME TIME, repurpose the EXACT SAME articles as PLR articles? (In effect, I would be a customer of my own PLR articles, except that I would be working off of the "master copy" rather than rewriting them.)

Correct my logic if I'm not seeing something, but this seems like a great "double-edged sword" to create two streams of passive income.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I know you want an answer, but this is the third thread (that I've seen so far) in which you've asked it. Not a good idea. Real easy to be mistaken for a spammer by a busy mod.

Have a little patience, the answer is out there...

Have you thought of selling them on Amazons Kindle book store?

Re-package them as e-books if they have similar themes?

If you are in a position to risk your modest income to potentially double it or triple it by re-purposing the content, go for it.

If you are reliant on the income for survival, it may not be worth the potential risk.

If all the articles are on one topic, why not turn them into a 10 page or 15 page report? Reports like these can be sold for $10 but if you are turning 25 articles into PLR pack. You can only sell each pack for a maximum of $5.

Where do you get your figures from? The average PLR article goes for $1 with limited distribution.

      To the OP,

Yes, you could probably turn your articles into PLR packs but I would recommend against it. As was mentioned above, repurpose the content instead to get more mileage from it in the long run. Here are a few ways to do so and still have only YOUR name on the content:
      • Turn some or all the articles into PowerPoint presentations and submit to the various slideshare sites
      • Turn some or all of those presentations into videos and submit to YouTube and other video sharing sites
      • Combine several into a short report and post it at document sharing sites
      • Combine even more, if you have enough on one topic, to create full reports or ebooks that you can use as subscriber incentives or even sell as full products

If you do release them as PLR articles, you better make sure you disclose that in your plr rights license.

I have seen other writers offer plr packages where the rights stated 'may not submit to article directories as is' and yet all their articles where on EZA already. That gives a shady look and feel to things and lost all my future biz from them.

Amd if you sell them as fresh plr articles and I see them posted to EZA years ago, again that doesn't look good either.

Yes, I agree. BUT I know that there are some big wigs who do it and even promote it.

I guess you are taking a chance either way, so I'm with the others who say to re-purpose it. That way you don't potentially ruin your reputation as a PLR author, and you get more mileage out of your thousand articles.

You can do this but if you have a list of buyers, I'd notify them that they're your articles now being released as PLR. The reason is many buy fast to be 1st on EZA, etc.

As a purchaser of PLR, I agree with Tiffany. It's great to know upfront what you are really purchasing, so that there aren't any "surprises". Again, just trying to keep that reputation as fab as possible!

I haven't done this before, but here is my opinion on the topic.

Basically your content is used already, so you should definitely mention that. This is a question of honesty, I mean it's obvious that PLR content is going to be out there multiple times, so a single publication of it shouldn't harm you too much.

So, I think if you are honest, there is nothing bad about it. You named all the possible drawbacks already, so there is no need to write them again.

If the pen name you submitted the articles under in the article directory is different than the name you're releasing the PLR packages under is different, how can anyone tell?

Publish date vs. release date? Maybe.

That said, I agree with Tashi Mortier, be honest.

If you care about your brand, you'll impose the same rules on yourself that premium PLR publishers impose on authors -- check the submitted pieces for plagiarism, quality and distribution.

Passing your old e-zine articles off as "fresh" PLR may be technically correct, but it won't ingratiate you with your customers and won't likely result in repeat business.

    Label them honestly:

Successful E-zine Articles Written By Premier Author With Thousands of Page Views and An Astonishing Click Through Rate

Then your sub: "Save time and money with articles that have been split tested for you. Know what works before you buy."

    Good luck!

I am so glad that this question was posed. I am currently setting up a PLR site and have written countless Ezine articles. Good to know that there is a possibility of re-using them in some way. This would be great for niche topics that no longer interest me.
    Thanks for the info.
