The Difference Between Amember and DAP-Digital Access Pass. Which Is Better?

I'm looking for a new membership site script and would like to know the difference between amember and DAP? Both look like they do the same thing. Have you used either one before? And advice which is better?

Which one looks the most professional? I'm told that
more people are expecting more professional looking sites.

    Kajabi looks great, and there's a less-expensive "Kajabi-like"
    software available as well.

"Old wine in new bottles", I guess.

      Hi rob,

Undoubtedly Amember is the better choice.

The reason for this is that it is much more robust and geared towards IM's.

The multi licence is also an option that you should consider.

What I prefer with AMember is the cost and easy access to the help desk.

Again it would depend on what you are doing I have used both and Amember is much more robust.

    Rob,

DAP was "Made For WordPress". It was built around the core concepts of "Content Dripping" and built for the new generation of IM'ers and membership sites.

It was also built with the goal of being a full-fledged platform, that offers you multiple mission-critical features rolled into one single platform...

... like Content Dripping, Affiliate Program, Email Autoresponder, Email Broadcasting, integration with many top-of-the-line 3rd-party services like Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp, and on the payment side, Paypal Standard, Paypal Pro, 1Shoppingcart, Authorize.net, vBulletin support, WordPress forums, etc.

Every single one of the above features are rolled into the main platform, and are all included as part of the main software. We won't nickel-and-dime you to death, like some others do, who sell many of the above as separate plugins :-)

All of the above features are built right into the main DAP software that you will be purchasing, and we have developed all of it in-house ourselves. So you won't have to run to 4 different 3rd-party plugin developers when you need support for DAP.

We are the developers, and we support it ourselves. And it's all included in your purchase of DAP.

And the whole thing was built for WordPress.

Most of our features were included from the ground-up. And not thrown in as an "after-thought" :-)

So regardless of which solution you pick, don't go just by the "list price" or the "feature list" alone. All the features in the world are no good if you have to buy multiple plugins and pay for them separately from the core software.

And all the support that the vendor promises you won't help if you're buying plugins from a third-party, and worse, if you're buying from multiple third-party developers.

So make sure you consider all the intangibles and the "un-seen" features and benefits of DAP and its competitors, before you make a decision.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us directly via our web site.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

    Hi,
I have used all three of the membership solutions you mention.
And I have friends who have used them too.

This has been my experience on my membership sites:

aMember Pro has performed flawlessly for the past three years and I have NEVER had a problem or had to contact customer support.

Digital Access Pass has OUTSTANDING customer support and it's a good thing they do because I had to use it... A LOT.

Wishlist Member has the most pleasing and useful features and the dashboard is really well organized. Unfortunately, 30% of the customers who purchase aren't even recognized by the software. Really too bad.

Kajabi (used by a friend of mine) won't recognize or respond to customers who use a particular kind of email address. It's a bug that leaves your customer wondering what happened.

Of all of these popular membership solutions, Wishlist Member is the one I like the most but unfortunately it has bugs that are intolerable.

The ONLY solution that seems accurate and reliable is aMember Pro.

    Hope this helps.

I just purchased DAP and the feature list is impressive, but the set up is proving difficult for me. I know alot of people said they like the customer service, but that hasn't been my experience....I am going to purchase aMember tonight and see if it is easier to set up...how is the customer service with aMember?

    Hi Dustin,

You will not easily find DAP users who are unhappy with our support - because no one does support better than us :-)

That said, it's still hard to create and maintain a perfect 100% record :-).

We come pretty close, but we do (very rarely) slip up due to un-foreseeable factors, like support folks out sick or due to personal issues, religious holidays, vacations, etc, and responses to tickets may be delayed by a few hours (average response time is about 4 hours).

Feel free to ping me offline with your DAP ticket #, and I will make sure you get taken care of.

    Thanks.
