I am still a rookie in IM, and i was trying to figure out a Niche to work with, any ideas?

  • Yes, the evergreen ones: relationships, financial, health and hobbies. These are the 4 big niches where a ton of buyers are in, each and every day. Just drill down deeper into those because you won't be able to compete with big sites when you're just starting out.

    You always want to have a bit of competition in a niche because that always shows you that it is a niche where people are spending money. If you find one without any competition, you're either very lucky (which is pretty unlikely nowadays with more and more people getting into the game) or you've hit a dud.

    Personally I would go for a niche I'm passionate about. For instance, I started to get into online dating niche, not because I had a passion for that niche but because it was popular. I had no interest in online dating. Then when I decided to to do some promotion I realize I had to invest in lots of money for other people to do social media marketing for me such as twitter, facebook forum contribution etc.

    This sort of marketing should have been free, which can easily be carried out by myself. Though because I had no interest in it I couldn't really do it.
