Favorite program for eCover design?

Does anyone have a preference for a product that easily and quickly designs 3D graphical covers for eBooks (spine, cover and all)? Especially one that can make not just a book graphic, but also a retail product box, and a box with a set of CDs displayed in front of it.

I'm interested in this too. I tried it once just using Photoshop and it took forever and didn't end up looking quite as good as most of the ones I see.

I use Adobe Photoshop with the 1 Click Covers plug-in: 1ClickCovers - The #1 eCover Design package (not an affiliate link). I find it really helpful and have used it to create covers for websites and for use in videos.

Yup. I'm no graphic artist! The program needs to have design templates and automatic formatting that is appropriate to books and retail boxes to really be useful. I've seen a program that takes your own graphics and wraps them in 3D fashion into a book, but that's not really helping with the design aspects of the cover at all. I'd like to type in the title and author name and any subtitles, choose a template and colors, and the program chugs it out. If there is such a product.

We really like this online tool, it makes great 3D covers for a book, cd & box, 3d-box, cd box, and dvd box. It's fast and easy, as long as you have your images pre-designed.

The ecover creator that I like, which does NOT require any Photoshop skills to actually create the image you'll eventually turn into an 'ecover' (which is something a lot of these other apps require BTW) is a little app called
      "E Cover Creator 3D"....

eBook Cover Generator | eCover Creator 3D

Check it out and see if it's something that's of interest to you....

I have used this before and it is a quick and easy tool that creates your ebook cover so quickly.

I created my own design in photoshop and uploaded it to the page. You can then save the new ebook cover to your computer and resize or edit it as you like.

      That's what I did anyway.

      Have fun...

Blackbelt Covers - One of the best eCover creation tools out there.

However, I'd recommend you outsource it to a professional who can do the job, rather than doing it yourself. I mean, look at it as an investment that will pay off in the long run. No matter how good a software tool is, it can never come close to human perfection. Just my two cents

I use blender because it's free. For simple boxes it's fine, I'm sure for more complicated shots of CD cases and spines you could download a good 3d model and simply change the textures.
