Who do I contact when I want to leave on a particular site link to my site. Should I contact the webmaster of this site?
What is the best way to ask him for a backlink? If someone has the experience it would be nice to share it. Thanks!

    Always check on the site first to see if the path to a link is already there - a public invitation. Some sites have this- just look around for it. If you cannot find that, then use the contact form and offer something that would give value to the site. Free content in exchange for a link is often welcome.

    Search for the contact info in the site. Failing that look at whois.

    After you get the email offer some content to the webmaster in exchange for a link. Just asking "pretty please" seldom works but a content offer (exclusive is better) has a good chance of being accepted.

    When making contact please come up with something original in return. I get requests in respect of some of the commercial sites that I manage just asking for links - not even the offer of a return link. I don't even reply to those emails.
