And it came as a huge surprise. I first came across Internet Marketing about a year or so ago and since then have failed multiple times.
Around Christmas time I made my first ever sale through Amazon Affiliates and since then have made maybe 2 more sales from my DJ Review Site. I think the reason for my bad conversions rates have been down to the look of the site as well as the products I chose and my reviews. However, I could not be bothered to change that website and make it the best it could be and moved on to other projects deeming that one to failure.
Since Christmas, I have also set up a website which is aimed at launch-jacking the release of a new game, Fear 3. I have high hopes for this website as I am achieving position 2 and 3 in Google for my main keyword. However, the game isn't to be released until May.
This brings me to something I have been up to recently and more importantly this image:
$67.96 in ONE DAY. If I could sustain this amount of income each day and potentially build on it then I'm looking at venturing full-time income areas which is very exciting for me.
So what have I done?
They tell you that you should always stick to what you're good at, what you love. Sitting at home doing my latest Stress Analysis work for my Masters Degree in Engineering and I'm wondering why I ever decided to do Engineering in the first place.
My parents will tell you that I've always wanted to be an Engineer, ever since I was young and in some ways that is true. I have a very curious mind. How does that work? Why does this happen? However, I seem to remember the majority of my childhood playing games and doing things on the internet.
I mean, I remember learning how to create very basic websites and use Photoshop at the age of 12. What 12 year old's do you know that spend their time doing Photoshop tutorials to make images for their 'clan' on an MMO? Probably not many.
I get the feeling I am digressing.
I was browsing a forum related to a game that I played as a kid and still dabble in from time to time now and saw a section where people could sell guides.
12 Hours later and I had produced, what I think, is a beautiful guide packed with easy to understand information on how to make lots of money on the game. I put a post up on the forum selling my guide and thought nothing more of it. I had written mainly because I wanted to share the all the information I had gained across the years of playing the game and it was fun to write.
After a few slow sales of my guides at a discounted price I began to get feedback. It seemed people have been loving my guide and getting success from using it. This slowly built up until I had the $67.96 day.
My message is this:
Don't force yourself to do something you're not interested in. Don't try to sell 'How to get 6 pack Abs' guides if you don't take your own abs seriously. Stick to selling things you're interested in, whether you're creating a product or selling one as an affiliate.
I hope my small success may also inspire others.
Now I come to you warriors asking for help going forwards. I'm currently working on writing some copy for this guide I wrote (It kinda sucks, I will be turning to the copywriting forum for advice on it after my first draft) and am unsure how to set up selling my guide on clickbank.
I'd like, if possible, a free wordpress theme (I'm only really familiar with using Wordpress) with customisable headers and footers that I can change to my owns graphics that I'll design. I've looked around briefly but not found much I can use that will allow my own graphics in the header etc.
After this, I'll have to try and choose a keyword for my domain and then create the site. I'm assuming I have to make a thank you and download page and then I can submit my product to Clickbank and start recruiting affiliates.
Exciting times, hopefully I can make this work and release my first ever product.
Thanks for all the help since I've been on these forums!
