Yes you can, you may want to make sure Google has indexed your blog post before you send it to EZA as it might rank better that way

Yes, ditto what was said above.

Depending on how new or aged your blog is, you could be "competing" with EZA as far as search engine rankings are concerned, though.

But if you already have it on EZA and want to add it to your blog it is no problem. Also I don't think EZA frowns if you already have it on your blog and want to submit it. What they want to know is that YOU are the sole author.

I think you could search for the title itself though, too. Someone else will probably chime in.

It is crucial to do things in this sequence, and I'm glad you addressed this issue. Many newbies make the common mistake of posting to EZA first, and this is something you should avoid at all costs.

There's an unquestioning trust and belief of the advise to "get your content indexed on your own site/blog before submitting to..."

Nothing on duplicate content says anything about YOU getting to pick and choose which version of your content will get featured on SERPs.

From Google Webmaster Tools:

Syndicate carefully: If you syndicate your content on other sites, Google will always show the version we think is most appropriate for users in each given search, which may or may not be the version you'd prefer. However, it is helpful to ensure that each site on which your content is syndicated includes a link back to your original article. You can also ask those who use your syndicated material to use the noindex meta tag to prevent search engines from indexing their version of the content.

It is always - ALWAYS - a good idea to research for YOURSELF the information upon which you will base major strategic decisions in your business and marketing, and not blindly rely on what you may hear on forums, webinars or in casual conversation.

Going to the source documents and reviewing them with fresh eyes often reveals startling and shocking information (like reading 'terms and services' of various popular sites will do!) - and hopefully prevent you from making costly mistakes in your business activities.
