If You Only Had To Choose 3, Which Would You Choose?

Hi all,

I've been trying to promote my website and am a little bit overwhelmed with the things that I have or want to do.

Here's a list:

article marketing
social bookmarking
rss submissions
video marketing
viral marketing
create accounts at squidoo, hubpages, wordpress and blogger to point to my site

I'm guessing if I do this full time, I'd have to put in about 2-3 months. I can still complete this though because I've not started working. However, I'm going back to the working world next month and I don't think I can put in such an extensive marketing for my next project.

So just thought I would ask my fellow warriors for their feedback on this. If you only had to choose between 3 marketing tools, which would you choose and why?

Thanks fellow warriors

Lydia

If I had to choose 3, it would be articles, RSS, and video.

If I had to choose 1, it would be video.

    Lydia,

It is a lot of work in order to market successfully. I think what you need to do is make a plan. Make a list of what you want to accomplish each day, then take action.

Taking everything into account I know you will not be able to do everything that you want to do in one day and possibly one week given that time is not at an unlimited amount. So what I would suggest to do is:

1st: Create accounts at squidoo, hubpages, wordpress and blogger to point them your site. If this takes more then one day. So be it. But get those out of the way because they will be the most time consuming to do at first. But it will be worth it if they are optomized the right way and you are selling in a good niche.

    2nd: Rss submissions

    3rd and final step: Social Bookmarking/Viral Marketing/Video Marketing/Article Marketing/Updating your blogs.

Once you get all of your little blogs pointing to your main site and your rss submissions out of the way. It is important to do social bookmarking, viral marketing, video marketing, article marketing and updating your blog.

This is where making a plan is so important because you are not going to have 200 articles 50 blog updates, 20 videos, etc. etc. in the first day. Plan what you want to do in one day. For example, one EZA article, one video, and two social bookmarks. I think you get the picture. The search engines like a gradual amount of backlinks pointing to sites. So it is actual better that you take your time.

Give yourself high expectations and reasonable goals and you will achieve them if you stay consistant. Remember that the sky is the limit with marketing, and the more that you put in, the more you will get out of it.

I hope that helps a little bit.

I guess it depends on what you mean by viral marketing... there really seems to be a lot of different opinions on this forum of what true viral marketing is.

Viral marketing, if executed properly would most certainly be my method of choice. Nothing else could even compare.

Once something goes truly viral, other people start writing articles, creating videos and linking to your site for you.

You leave out two of the most important and most profitable strategies for website promotion:

    1. Running your own affiliate program
    2. Web community involvement

But if I were to pick any from your list it would be video marketing and I would use Traffic Geyser.

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for your feedback. You're right. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with the tasks that I have to complete for that day that I just don't get anything done. Sometimes I bite off more than I can chew.

My only comfort is knowing that the first time of doing it right will always take the longest because I'm still learning. But I know that the next time and the next time after that, I should be able to get the ball rolling a lot faster.

Yes, I agree that planning plays a great deal and I'm still learning to plan effectively.

Hi Josh, I'm still new in this IM world. Even though I've dabbled in it in the past couple of years, it is only quite recently that I really took a hard look at what I want and how and what I have to do to make that happen.

I would love to run my own affiliate program but honestly I am not ready for this yet. I'm still learning to get consistent sales from affiliate programs.

I don't know what you mean when you say web community involvement but I'm guessing what you mean is taking part in forums or social networking programs like twitter and facebook and getting involved?

Pick one, get great at it, then move to the next. PPC is the fastest paid way, seo if you use 'One Hour Google' (http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ne-day.html)is the fastest free way. Creating your own product (or altering and adding to an existing one) is the best long term way!

Whatever you do, if you take action, follow someone getting the results you're after and learn from your mistakes, you'll get there!

I second that Mike. Setting out to master three of these things will be slow road.

If I had to pick one, it would be joint ventures. :-)

If I had to choose, I'd choose:

    Traffic Generation: Article Marketing

I've had a lot of success with article marketing for generating traffic. I have a ton of articles that have ranked #1 or first page on Google. Articles I've wrote months ago are still bringing me traffic with no work on my part.

    Converting Traffic: Video Marketing

I've worked with many projects and wrote many squeeze pages in the past. However, the top converting one was a video squeeze and salespage that converted at 54% and 12% respectively.

I've absolutely sold on using video as a way to convert traffic into sales.

    Hi Lydia

I am with Josh Anderson on this. For pure speed in Niche markets and to get real traffic over time use video and use Traffic Geyser.

I am assuming here that you did mean acutal tools and not strategies.

And then use it over time. It does the Web2.0 sutff for you if you take the $90 extra package to set up the Web2.0 accounts.

That is the first Internet Tool and covers basic video training, landing pages, most of the Web2.0 stuff that gets traffic to your site.

Next I would use some of Josh's stuff on your landing page. Using his $29 course on putting up walk on Videos I saved a JV of mine $8,500 USD and 6 days of travel and pain (that cost saving has come down now but the $29 is still worth every penny) Plus is bumped sign up by a big amount.

Yes I may be sounding a bit of a fan here - and to answer your question of why - simple "it works, both Traffic Geyser and Josh's walk on".

Next I would go for Article Announcer - for more over time work on getting links.

Personally I buy and have bought tens of thousands of dollars of tools and servcies and got clients to buy others as well. As one of the guys said in a similar post. Buy things that either cut down on time or fill in a skill you do not have. In all the tools I have bought I probably only sent two back. But as you have highlighted you have to be careful of time.

Also as Mike says chose one and get really good at it.

    Hope this helps.
