I have written articles and made free blogs.

But i want to step into professional world. So i will be buying a domain name.

I am always skeptical on selecting niches. I dont know which niche should i go for. Really i dont.

    There are thousands of niches you can step in. Don't go into competitive niches like weight loss etc. Start with low competition niches. You can get niche ideas from clickbank.

      The product and niche is not what will make money - it's your ability to effectively market. If you can't do that - picking a niche is irrelevant.

      Everything requires effort. there is no niche in the world that can't make you money, that is why it is a niche. The only thing which will vary niche to niche is the amount of effort required.

      Edit: I would suggest that you stay in the same niche in which you made a sale: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...sale-ever.html as you know this is working.

    @Marketing Cheetah. I just opened my clickbank account and saw 3rd sale. And the product is IM product.

    But what to do everyone stops me to go to niches that are competitve. I have just created a free blog. and few articles on artclesbase with my affiliate link shortened by bit.ly.

      How can anyone stop you going into a competitive niche?

      It's YOUR business. Your dream. Your future.

      It looks like you rely on other people to tell you what to do way too much.

      Just pick something you love and get on with it.

      There is nothing wrong in going into competitive niches. Everyone is stopping you because you have just started IM and there is a lot of competition out there for big niches. So it is advisable to take only one step ahead instead of taking 2 steps forward and 3 steps backward.

      You're not going to get the answer you want.

      Asking such a thing in an open forum will only get you 1000 different opinions, many of which are from people who have not made any money themselves and will just repeat what they heard from someone else.

    Everyone on this forum will tell you to go to Clickbank. While there's a lot of money to be made there, it's not always easy for a newbie. Don't just go after Clickbank, there is plenty of money to be made with tangible goods as well. Check out CJ, Google Affiliate Network, ShareASale, PepperJam. Many times you can find low competition with physical products if you do some research in different niches.

      The domain name is mostly irrelevant. Just pick something that fits with what your value or focus is.

      Well, if you have intentions of going really long term in the MMO/IM niche, then you may want to consider some branding, and you may want to consider using your own real name for a website.

      Here is a question - what was the product that made you those 3 sales? Was it one product or one specialized thing in the IM niche?

      For example, if I had made my money promoting a wordpress plugin, then I might be temped to start a site like wppluginexperts.com or something.

      I say follow the path where you know the money is already.

    Actaully i am a newbie. I have got 3 sales. So now i am really tempted to earn atleast $100 a day. That is why i am always skeptical on selecting and finding a niche. Because i dont want to lose my money on domain and hosting. And thank you again.

    Hello:

    My best advice to you is to pick a niche that you have some interest in. Maybe a hobby of yours. In today's online market, great, unique content is what Google likes. That means sitting down every day and writing content - so it would help tremendously if that is not so much of a chore.

    Select a Niche which you love.....and have some knowledge about it. Every niche has competition so saying for example, dont go in the 'make money online' niche because it has competition would be a mistake. I think the 'Weight Loss' niche has the same amount of competition!

    May be you should select that niche on which you have strong interest and knowledge. From there you go for product selection or creation, a product that is appealing to the large crowd and offers to deliver value. Then follow the regular marketing things.

    It is not like that people add insight to your search but add perspective to force you think in multiple dimensions. And it is equally not very impressive to get 'idea' dictated by others. What actually matters is you and only you.

    Well, which niche to choose will depend on what business model you want to follow.
    If you want to create big sites, with lots of information and people that on a regular basis visit your site because they love to follow you, choose a niche that you are passionate about.
    If you want to follow the mini sites model. Where you have many small sites that solve specific problems and got most of their traffic from Google, start by finding popular profitable markets and then dig deeper on them to find niches with good keywords to get into them.

      All you gotta do is check the keyword data on whatever niche or products you want to go into. You want niches with competition because that means there's plenty of hungry buyers. You're not gonna get rich going after micro niches week in week out.

    really there are just a few things that should be checked when selected a niche. The GOOD news is, that there are sites like "Clickbank" that will give you all of the info for free.

    Here are some of the things I would look for:

    1. Large in numbers - You want to see a lot of people within the niche, that way you know that there are customers.

    2. Easy to reach them - this will allow you to pick which traffic methods are effective for that niche. For example, if it is a large and competitive niche, then jvs are effective, if it is a small not so competitive niche, then articles will work great.

    3. Competition - You want to see if people are spending money in that niche on marketing, so be sure to check the ppc engines (Adwords).

    4. Products - are there good products that are being delivered. If so, then you can create your own product within that niche.

    Those are just some of the things I would make sure I check when selecting a niche.

      You need to examine niches for several things, the most important being competition and profitability. These two are critical.

      You can find a niche that not competitive at all, yet it has very low commercial value. So you want to find one that has both low competition and respectable commercial value.

      There are several things that you must assess in competition, this includes number of pages the search engine returns, the PR of the top ten pages, the number of pages that these sites have indexed and a range of other things as well.
